Who do you fancy to win the world cup?
Holland, Germany and Argentina for me
I honestly think this could be year of the underdog, maybe not winning the world cup but we might see one or two shock qualifiers a new country entering the big boy frame and making a final
After recently watching Chile dispatch Iran 6-0 when it could of been 10-0 and beating england at wembley I hope they beat spain and get to the second round they are a dangerous underdog !
But I fancy a European club to finally win in south america. Holland or Germany to win it

Russia and South Korea haven't played.
I still fancy Argentina.

I wouldnt touch Brazil with a barge pole after tomights performance. Germany and the Netherlands would gut then cremate them and piss on the ashes. Argentina have been uninspiring but Spain are now the real dark horses in this tournament having been written off. England are not out as I predict they will progress, for a start I beleive Uraguay will prove very beatable with an unfit Suarez in the squad. Perhaps they intend to keep him on the bench as a scare tactic, time will tell. England will be stuffed in the quarters or semis though.

Germany or Netherlands, would love to see those 2 in the finals

The Germans look formidable. No individuals, just a well drilled clinical unit, they looked like they might go on to win it last world cup, but seemed to get over confident and came unstuck...can't see them making the same mistakes this time around, they don't seem to have any weaknesses, it will take a special performance to beat them imo

Agree, It will take something special to stop germany World class performances from someone like messi, or the dutch trio up front.
But then you just dont know I feel this world cup is wide open anybody is capable of getting a goal, and once you score 1st in a game anything can happen

Germany were not even that good against Portugal. Such a shame that Pepe's red card ruined what was a very good game at that point.
Argentina struggled against Bosnia, think they'll make the Semi's.
Best bet right now is Netherlands although it is far to early to say.

Iran v Australia final for me.

I wouldn't read too much into the Germany result, it was a very poor Portuguese team and performance. Holland dismantled a Spanish side but should they win against Chile tommorrow you have to think they will be one of the favorites again. The Swiss performed well too.

Don't take anything away from Germany they played very well

You could see the Portuguese giving up after the penalty was awarded plus their game plan was so stupid, just pass to Ronaldo and be done with it.
If the Germans dispatch the USA and Ghana with ease then i'll sit up and listen.

I agree with you about Pepe's red card. A lot of people paid big money to go and watch that game. Pepe needs to be banned for good before he wrecks someone's football career. See the youtube clip of some of his 'attacks'.

Germany would destroy Holland. Germany took their foot off the gas after they were 2-0 up against Portugal with an extra man... They had other gears to go into if they needed IMO.could have won that game by a lot more if they wanted to. Champions elect for me

Germany are by far the best team.

I'm with you mate. Holland look good going forward, but Germany are masters of the dark arts, they would mark Holland out of the game, then cut them apart up the other end. Germany look the complete package, a real clever team, will take an outstanding performance to beat them...imo

I Still reckon Brazil will.
Italy and Germany we both go far as they always do at the WC.

Brazil are terrible.
So lucky they are in that group.

They will turn it on in the Knockout though just like thy did in the Confed cup last year.

Most impressive teams so far for me have been, Germany, France and the Dutch against Spain. I think theres alot more to come from Argentina and Im sure with the home factor Brazil will be a force. Sitting on the fence a little but if I had to pick one it would be the Germans, by far the most complete team/squad, from back to front they ooze quality and are all familiar with each other.
Chile also impressed me tonight but I dont think they'll have the firepower to push on through the latter stages.

There wasn't any really good teams in the confed cup

It's hard to say at the moment. I'll wait til the group stages are over to decide.

Just wait and see I'd be surprised if they didn't win it. If they don't then I can't see past either Germany or Italy. With Belgium and Chile being the dark horses.

Belgium aren't really darkhorses. They are 5th favourites.

I dont think Holland are all that. They have an average midfield and are not great at the back. Robben and Van Persie will win them plenty of games but apart from those two they are lacking.
De Jong is just a thug, if being a thug makes you good at football then Shawcross must be right up there with Messi & co!
De Guzman, what a pointless player. Box to box, average in defense and average in attack, jack of all trades master of none. Sad times when thats the calibre of player in a dutch national team.
Sneijder, still waiting for this guy to deliver, all this hype for years and he's never lived up to it.
They will always be dangerous with Robben & Van Persie though but have just lost Van Persie for the next game, if Chile beat them (very good chance of that) then it means Holland will probably have to play Brazil in the next round.

I think S American teams tend to win on their continent, but think the European sides are looking strong in this tournament. Outside bet on France at 14/1 ?
Thu Jun 19, 2014 8:48 pm
England. ...oh hang on a min.
Thu Jun 19, 2014 9:04 pm
Ze Germans @ 7/1
Thu Jun 19, 2014 11:46 pm
One team I see going far is Colombia, look so comfortable, not nerved at all and very good attacking.
Germany for me though, France will be up there.
