Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will now turn his attention to his backline after snapping up three strikers early on this summer
Cardiff City's army of strikers
Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is satisfied with his attacking options at the club and will not target any more strikers this summer.
It is a decision which rules out any move for former Bluebird Ross McCormack despite reports that Cardiff had bid £9m for the in demand Leeds striker.
WalesOnline understands now the Norwegian will turn his attention to defensive matters as he prepares for his side’s forthcoming Championship campaign.
Solskjaer has already been very busy in the transfer market having made five signings so far with three of them frontmen.
Spaniard Javi Guerra has arrived from La Liga club Real Valladolid, youngster Federico Macheda has signed after his contract ended at Manchester United, while Adam Le Fondre has also put pen to paper in a move to the Welsh capital from Reading – a deal believed to be worth in excess of £1m.
The trio add to a number of attackers already at Cardiff.
Joe Mason, Nicky Maynard, Kenwyne Jones and Fraizer Campbell are still under contract in the Welsh capital although it remains to be seen how many of those will still be at the club when the season gets underway in August.
Campbell, the club’s top-scorer last season, has been heavily linked with newly-promoted Premier League outfit Leicester.
Mason and Maynard both spent much of last season out on loan with 23-year-old Mason having two spells at Championship side Bolton whilst Maynard ended the campaign at Wigan where he scored four goals in 18 appearances.
Solskjaer has insisted both Mason and Maynard will be given a chance to impress when the Bluebirds players return for preseason training at the end of this month.
Solskjaer’s other two signings this summer so far are midfield players Guido Burgstaller from Rapid Vienna and Kagisho Dikgacoi who signed from Premier League club Crystal Palace.
But with Steven Caulker being heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League Solskjaer’s focus is now on a defence that leaked a lot of goals in the top-flight last term.
Sources at the club have confirmed the Norwegian is happy he now has the players in place to fire the goals next term to help the Bluebirds try to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

We need to focus on other positions, we have more than enough strikers on the books so pleased to read this.

Will his stance on no more strikers change if and when Campbell leaves?
Its all gone quiet on that front. Is he considering staying or is he waiting for his end of year bonus.

Probably has his agent playing club vs club. Even if he stays I can see it costing us heavily in a loyalty bonus and improved wages.
Saying that we will be a better side with him than without, but even if he does leave we'll have plenty of choice and it may open the door a little for Maynard or mason to have more of a crack.
I'm more concerned about us getting decent fees for Caulker, Medel and Marshall as i'd really like to see a chunk come off the debt.

With you on the last part. I can see us taking a loss on Medel, recouping money on Caulker and healthy profit on Marshall if he goes.
My guess? £20-22million for all three.

Could be, but why not spending the one year (hopefully) in the Championship preparing for a PL comeback? Can´t see many in the current squad playing in the PL next season. John, Fabio, Cala. I say buy a couple more future prospects.

Apparently Ross went running to one of the papers in Leeds demanding to get a story about him getting linked to Cardiff, very strange.
