TRANSFER NEWS: Chelsea want Rooney, Balotelli's Arsenal admission, Rodriguez to Liverpool

CHELSEA are set to revive their interest in Manchester United's Wayne Rooney and Mario Balotelli hasn't ruled out a move to Arsenal. Elsewhere, Liverpool want Wolfsburg's Ricardo Rodriguez, Everton are winning the race for Steven Caulker and Juventus have been told to cough up £32m for Romelu Lukaku.

The summer transfer market does not officially open until July 1, but clubs are already busy preparing moves behind the scenes. Here is a round-up of all the latest news, rumours and gossip...

Chelsea are preparing a shock £40m bid for Manchester United's Wayne Rooney.

And - possibly to make way - the Blues have slapped a £32m price tag on Romelu Lukaku amidst interest from Juventus.

Mario Balotelli could be set for a move to Arsenal in the summer after the player's agent refused to rule out a move.

Liverpool are set to revive their interest in Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez after a move for Sevilla's Alberto Moreno stalled.



Arsenal, Liverpool, Swansea and Crystal Palace all want Cardiff defender Steven Caulker.

Swansea defender Neil Taylor's agent claims his client is open to a move to Southampton to replace Manchester United and Chelsea target Luke Shaw.

Arsenal could be set to make a shock move for Tom Cleverley as part of the deal that takes Thomas Vermaelen to Manchester United.

Ronald Koeman has a battle to hold onto his stars after signing a three-year contract with Southampton.

Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Morgan Schneiderlin and Calum Chambers are among the Saints star who could be on the move this summer.

Will be interesting the new Rooney saga (sigh) with Van Gaal in charge.

Rodriguez would be a good move for Liverpool and Taylor should leave Swansea for 1st team football for Wales sake.
