The Pepe Muller incident

Mon Jun 16, 2014 11:27 pm

While Pepe has a history of violence and being sent off and was rightly sent off again, I hate it when players milk it to get a player carded. The red card ruined the game which a lot of people paid good money to watch and there are too many of these incidents in football. If someone hits another employee in the workplace they can lose their job and even go to gaol, yet a footballer only gets a red card and sometimes not even that. If they were banned for a year for three reds it would stop most incidents. It would be difficult to do it for 1 or 2 reds because some incidents are inevitable in football and can be accidental. Also, I would send players who are feigning injury straight to hospital for a scan and if no injury is present give them a lengthy ban as well. After watching the history of Pepe (link below), I think he should be banned for life.

Pepe was stupid go anywhere near a player with your head and your asking for trouble, he let his country down big time

I'd also have a shirt that rips for the shirt pullers and that releases a dye for the pushers. The technology is there already.

Pepe was a fool. It was shocking the way the german farmer went down though, no shame whatsoever. The ref & linesman didnt buy it and prob would have worked against Muller the longer the game went on but Pepe had to get involved and it was a red card all day long.

Pepe is todays Berndt Schuster, a player who will never understand FAIRPLAY. Been seeing some la liga, and Pepe is by far the worst diver, actor and he has totally no clue about fairplay. I would protest if Cardiff City bought him, I'd rather take Monk ...

I couldn't remember much about Schuster being a bit of a psycho, so I took a quick look on youtube and couldn't see much to compare him with Pepe. Pepe may well ruin a players career with his future antics if his past cheap shots are repeated, whereas, Schuster looked more like a talented footballer. If you know of something to really compare him with Pepe then post the links please.

It was his own fault,he bent down and put his head on the other players head,it didn't look that bad really but you can't do it

Muller should have been booked for diving also and he did it twice.

Same old Germans always cheating.

Müller didnt dive or anything, first he got Pepe's fingers in his face, he went down yes. But everyone would do...
the the attempted headbutt, Müller didnt roll over and simulate he got hit, but stands up to confront Pepe. Nothing wrong there...

But I do recall one Engalnd player diving v Italy... hmmmm.... THAT was cheating... :o

Are you serious? When Pepe rested his head very gently on Muller, Muller pretended to fall back and started screaming before getting up to confront him. An absolute pansy of a bloke.

when Pepe did the headbutt attempt, Müller did not fall back or roll over or whatever what players usually do to get his opponent sent off. instead he jumped up to yell at him. don't see anything wrong here, maybe instead he should have stayed down in a calm manner? I wouldn't...

Like most pro footballers at the top of the game they are both overpaid, spoilt, cheating, arrogant cry babies. Its the way the game has gone sadly........years ago a player would not want to show you had hurt him in a tackle.Give it another 20 years and you will be watching a male version of netball.
