It's not surprising though, the red kit is always going to be a poor seller.

I went through Cardiff airport recently. There is a section where they sell sports shirts. The JBs, and a couple of egg clubs had quite respectable displays, fair play to them. Proper signs, choice of products, the lot. All we had was a couple of red shirts, hanging limply in the middle. No signs, nothing. A total disgrace.

It's their own fault if they don't advertise the products. Not to mention we have a club shop in Queens Arcade as well where people can buy things. I didn't see our shirt on the Sports Direct website either, so this story really is a non story. Our debut season and we have had to compete with the ongoing support of the bigger teams. As mentioned, we are not a city/team that buys many replica shirts, whereas fans of the biggest clubs who support their teams in their armchair will be more entitled to buy a replica shirt since they don't go to as many games as a fan of Cardiff who would rather spend their money going to games.

I'm told by someone in the industry that we usually average 25,000 shirts PA. Sadly, I'm also told that it looks like VT will be manufacturing next seasons kit and if its true, will be a disaster. I'm hoping that this seasons disastrous shirt sales combined with what's happening with the Trust shirt resonates with VT & leads to him doing the obvious i.e. back to blue. Can't see it myself but it's more obvious than a bulldogs bollocks.

Yeah, this is a little misleading, in my opinion. The only big retailer I saw selling it in Cardiff was sports direct, and even then that wasn't until 4-5 months into the season. Add to that, the two club shops in the city, and of course it was going to sell shit.

That said, the sheer number of red shirts still in the club shops suggest that it really did sell below expectation. Was a pretty ugly shirt to be honest, regardless of it's colour.

The pride in the BLUEBIRD identity is because it's seen as a protest to the current regime, Blue is our our real identity and the reason so many blue shirts are being bought now is because it's seen as a protest and that's why the pride is coming out in people. They are taking pride in the true identity of the club and are taking pride as being seen as a protester.

St. David's Centre has a footfall of around 40,000,000 per year (admittedly there are duplicates where some visit regularly).

Cardiff City Centre is visited by 20,000,000 people every year.

Are you seriously saying that if we had Blue home shirts with Bluebird badges and Premier League emblems on the sleeves, our fans wouldn't have taken the opportunity to buy this historical memento form the St. David's outlet???
