Gary Medel - World Cup Bluebird.

Sun Jun 15, 2014 11:00 pm

I know he is almost certainly leaving us, but I'm pretty sure that Gary Medel is the first Cardiff City player to take part in the World Cup finals since 1958. Does anybody know of any others? I know Adrian Alston went to the World Cup but was not at Cardiff when he played (for Australia).

For information (Thank you Wikipedia), the 5 players in 1958 were :
Derrick Sullivan
Ron Hewitt
Ken Jones
Graham Vearncombe
Colin Baker

Even I wasn't (quite) born then! :old:

Kimbo is a better example.

He played at the Olympics. As I understand, he is unlikely to be in Korea's first choice starting lineup.

How is he unlikely to play?
