Bale and Ramsey

Fri Jun 13, 2014 7:36 am

Is it just me or does it seem like these 2 guys don't care too much about playing for Wales? Don't get me wrong, i know the season had just finished and they don't wanna get injured in a friendly, but i thought they would've relished the chance to play against Holland to show what this team is about.

Bale somehow always seems to have a slight injury that keeps him out of games, Ramsey isn't as bad but i don't see why he deserved a rest against Holland more than the other players in the squad just because he is a better player.

I may sound like an idiot for saying this but i truly believe this could be the best Welsh team years... if ALL players show the dedication that's required. Let's be honest, Bale and Ramsey would walk into the England team, well they would walk into pretty much every team at the World Cup, and i think if they both stay fit we have a VERY good chance of making it to Euro 2016.

The thing is with Wales, we've always had a couple of top quality players at one time, but never a quality team. At the moment i think our team is looking quite decent. We have Bale, Ramsey, Ashley Williams, Joe Allen and quite a few young players coming through who look like they will be good players in the near future.

Honestly, i would like to hear other peoples opinion on this. Do you think we can make Euro 2016 and maybe even push on from there? Personally I haven't felt this excited about the Welsh team in a long time. We have a lot of potential if we have a fully fit team. And also, do you think Chris Coleman is the man to take us forward? :ayatollah:

i think, after both scoring the winning goals in massive games recently, and reaching for the welsh flag before anything else, they have at least both shown to be passionate Welshmen, they have both had tough seasons with Injuries in there for good measure. i wouldnt read too much into it.

With regards the Wales team. I dont think we have ever been able to say we have 2 genuine world class players in the same side. Now we do, and that fact alone gives us a good shout for the Euros. Bosnia and Belguim will be tough, but we can qualify by finishing third.

Most important is that we keep all the main guys fit. Williams will be vital at the back, i think Vokes is important up top as he brings something that no other welsh striker has.

I'm actually quite excited for the next campiegn, but then ive been this way before!

Sadly, with the financial rewards of CLUB football and the relative lack of success for Wales as an international football nation, there will be times when the best players (and they don't currently come any better than Bale and Ramsey at the moment) will be told not to risk themselves by their clubs and maybe (as in Giggs case) they may even think "Why should we bee bothered for the (so called) meaningless 'friendly' games"

No doubting their 'commitment' when actually on the field for Wales, but in the modern football (horrid word) sadly both player and club would have a point when it comes to the non-competitive games :(

FFS.

Bale usually turns up for Wales even when he is injured.

Bale had two choices, go and play in a pointless (for us) end of season friendly after a long hard season or go to the far east and earn a couple of million with real madrid. I know which one i would choose. Herro!

These boys are proud to represent Wales, far more comitted than certain so called superstars like Giggs.

No need for the FFS, as I was broadly agreeing. However, there will be times (as I believe happened for the last game) where they are TOLD to "rest" and probably (and privately) weren't too unhappy about it!

As I stated, no faulting their commitment when on the field for Wales. Two outstanding players

What it will be like in the coming years I don't know but these pair don't miss many games and I'm more likely to believe their injured when they do pull out. As already been stated they turn up with the squad when they don't play that must be brilliant for the other players and can only show it's a tight knit squad. I will take the two of them missing friendliest as long as they don't miss qualifiers any day. Not ideal but that's what happens for a country of our stature

Disappointing that they both missed the Netherlands game, but their record has been pretty good so far. By all accounts, the Dutch were disappointed too, as they wanted a tougher game. Other players missed the game too, not just Rambo and Bale.

There seems to be a good atmosphere in the Wales squad at the moment. Hopefully, after a good rest, and pre-season, they will all be fit for the Euro qualifiers. Then they all need to turn up, even if injured, at least to support the other lads.

Looking forward to the games.

Also, this was a friendly for the benefit of Holland, and even in terms of friendlies, was extremely pointless for us.

One game missed and bale is the new giggs :laughing6:

He has turned out for some total shit, meaningless friendlies.

They both give everything for wales.

Ramsey doesn't sound welsh in the slightest any more. Full north london accent now. What did he do after he scored the winner in the fa cup final?. Get a welsh flag straight away.

Wasnt FFS'ing you Sven. Just the whole Bale & Ramsey not that committed to Wales thing in general. Bale's not far off half a century of caps already. Ramsey would be a bit closer if it wasnt for his nasty leg break.

I dont doubt their commitment one bit. Im glad we played Holland without them tbh. We need to learn to play without them as they are not always going to be available for us.

This thread sounds like the English, they love to turn on a player. Bale has played plenty of pointless games for Wales.

It's a stupid time to have a friendly really.

Can't believe some of you guys,I tell you what,if either of these lads were my sons I'd tell them not to even think of playing international football, neither of them need to raise their profile as players, and I'd love to ask them how much help or encouragement they got in their early carriers from outside their own families.

what a strange thing to say.

Re: Bale and Ramsey

can't agree with you there, their records for wales are near faultless unless they have an injury that keeps them out of their clubs as well. Bale played for us against surbia when injured and even went as a bench warmer to "scare the opposition" (can't remember who that was against, maybe macedonia?) so i wouldn't worry too much about it, they'll both play whenever they can

also, i don't think coleman is the man to take us forward tbh, but its not as bad under him as i thought it would be

Re: Bale and Ramsey

This friendly game was pointless for Wales! So i don't blame them at all to miss these games! Who would want to listen Coleman for 2-3 days constant talking inept tactics?

We just need them back for European/world cup qualifier games!

I don't think we will make the Euro 2016..Bosnia and Belgium will be above us!

3 teams qualify from each group (although 3rd place may have to play in a play off)

Seems that way just like Giggs he was no better just seem to want to pick and choose their games , wouldn't of thought it was to good for team morale ? :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

They don't want to play cos wales are a crap team but we are a crap team because they don't play
