KG’s Agent Takes Dramatic Swipe At Palace After Cardiff Move
Thursday 12th June 2014.
With his departure from Crystal Palace now officially confirmed, Kagisho Dikgacoi’s agent has taken a swipe the South African’s former employers.
Following the news that Dikgacoi has agreed to a three year deal with Cardiff City, the midfielder’s agent has lambasted Palace for “not pushing the boat out” to keep KG.
He told South Aftican football website kickoff.com:
“Cardiff made him a special offer and are very excited at having signed KG, and he is equally very glad to go over there.
“Palace were very slow in showing interest in KG, whereas City and a few others were really showing great interest.
“In the end Palace didn’t push the boat out in order to secure the deal even when they knew that he was at the end of his contract. They didn’t come to the party and the player couldn’t wait any more.”
“KG always gives 100 percent wherever he is – he did the same at Fulham – actually he gave more than a 100 percent at Palace.”
“He is a big boy, he is always ready for a new challenge. You can see this in the way he adapted to life in London after his move from South Africa. He is ready and looking forward to staying in Cardiff – it is really like a mini version of London town anyways so he will be ok.
Of course, as Dikgacoi’s representative, Matt Kleinman has a duty to sell his player to any potential suitors, but given the nature of his statement, you can’t help but feel that he is somewhat overestimating his client’s ability.
Whilst KG has always proven to be a dependable option in the centre of midfield, he has never really shone during his time in SE25, with Pulis and the board no doubt torn over whether to offer him a new deal at all.
It’s also telling that, despite a contract being put forward by us, he chose instead to drop a division, no doubt thanks to the financial package on offer to him in Wales instead of the standard of opposition.
I wish him well in all of his future endeavours but it must be said, his agents words do leave a rather bitter taste in the mouth.

We didnt offer him a new contract/good deal because he was very very average for most of last season, him and Jedinek together were the reason Palace had less than 30% posession most games.

Speaks volumes for the worrying fact we are surely paying him way over the odds. I dread to think how much he is getting with us.
