25 Years a City Fan

Wed Jun 11, 2014 9:55 pm

Hello everybody. Seeing as it's been a quarter of a century that I've now been a city fan and seeing as I keep reading all the forum stuff that Annis sticks on Twitter I thought I'd join up myself. Anyway, by way of introduction I thought I'd jot down my favourite city 11 from my time for you all to mock and have a pop at, plus the luxury of 7 subs. We were just in the Prem after all.

4-4-2

GK: David Marshall - who else?
RB: Kevin McNaughton - no one else comes close
LB: Damon Searle - he had a bad rap towards the end of his time but never from me!
CB: Jason Perry - how did he make so many crunchers with those Twiglet legs?
CB: Danny Gabbidon - sheer class
CM: Graham Kavanagh - I had a man crush
CM: Peter Whittingham - legend, always miss him when he doesn't play
RW: Cohen Griffith - most distinctive running style ever
LW: Nathan Blake - Mr. Nudge's favourite customer
ST:Phil Stant - there's a shot of Stantona leaning against the post in that Boro FA cup replay which is one of my all time faves
ST:Robert Earnshaw - the best goalscorer in my time and a homegrown lad too

SB1: Andy Legg - could well ahve been in the starting XI
SB2: Scott Young
SB3: Carl Dale
SB4: Neil Alexander
SB5: Chris Pike - the ultimate crap player who scored loadsa goals
SB6: Paul Millar - sheer comedy value
SB7: Jason Koumas

Manager: Eddie May

Well, there you are. Just my way of introducing myself to the forum. I don't think there's anything too controversial there.

Regards,

Tim

Legg has to be a starter..
No mention of Paul Ramsay?
Thorne ahead of Blakey.
Young about 1000 times before Gabby.

But that's just my opinion.

Ramsey was a toss up with Millar but I did say that these were my favourites not the best XI. That's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it.
