I have to say I've been one of his biggest critics but after today me and my family have a lot of respect for him. Many of you may have seen in the papers about a baby who lost his life called hunter he had 3 operations on the heart and survived them all but his body was to weak after fighting all the infections and then suffered a cardiac arrest but that little boy was my nephew and I'm glad everyone knew how much of a little fighter he was and now Vincent tan has offered to send us money to help with improving the facilities where our boy was and make sure no more babies die from negligence. The money will also be improving the chapel of rest and various other things with Bristol hospital.

Honestly, other than the rebrand I admire the guy. Ole is honest and says that he truly cares about the club, he's trying to establish a football empire and has given a lot to charity.....he needs to be understood to be able to fix things, abusing him is never going to help and the way that Annis is starting to push this is starting to annoy me.

I thought this would be yet another thread attacking VT but was saddened reading your post.A very sad story and sad to hear that he lost his fight for life after three operations.A little battler whose body couldn't take anymore, all the best.

Daniel, that is superb news for your nephew's memory and I couldn't be more pleased for you all
I hope certain others will not turn this thread into yet another of those totally anti-Tan events, as I know from reading many articles on the guy that he genuinely cares about providing for charitable purposes and is also a very amiable guy when met in private circumstances (and I certainly remember the hospitality he showed to a member of this Forum in Malaysia a couple of years ago)
Credit where it's due (to Tan Sri Vincent Tan) on this occasion

Rebrand aside I think he is actually trying to good but his little cronies like lim didn't help his case and cheers mate they were the worst few months of my life

agree all day with this.
obviously my opinion of our club and VTs differ, but things like this really put it into perspective (and disarm that "evil dictator" tag to boot).
sorry for your loss, i genuinley couldnt imagine how your family must be feeling

That's the problem we have. He is by all accounts an humanitarian, and things like this proves that this is the case.
If he kept our colours then we would be putting a statue outside the ground for him. That's what I just don't understand about the guy

Daniel, it's beginning to look that way. I spoke to a Newcastle fan today and he said their fans would rather have Tan than Mike Ashley!
A positive thread, so far

My sincere condolences for your loss - truly hope the gesture Mr Tan has made improves the chances of such a sad circumstance to never happen again.
It does show the guys heart is as big as a lions and those that mock and make vile, personal insults need to hang their head in shame.
I wish you all the best for you and your family for the future!

Vinny T is a nice guy at heart, he does a lot of work with charity as well. The only thing wrong with him is he is clueless regarding footy and what it's history means to fans.

Thank you everyone and glad to see we can have a sensible conversation without idiots here everyone's comments mean a lot to our family

Really sorry to hear about your families loss. It's great to hear though that money is being put forward to help make sure more people will live.
Regardless of what you issue with Tan is over the rebrand its been clear from the beginning the guy has a big heart and has been willing to give money to help charities etc

Sorry to hear the news of your young nephew - my sympathies to you all.
As I have said before, Tan is by no means a bad guy and he has given a lot to local charities in Cardiff. We could have a lot worse chairman.
Nothing in life is ever as black and white as it may seem. It would be nice if some of those that have abused Tan have the humility to accept that some of their extreme views were unfair and wrong.

Very sorry for your loss Chief. But a big up to VT for giving this money that should be provided by the Government from money collected by the tax payer. Again deepest sympathy to you and the parents of this Baby.

Daniel,
I'm so sorry to hear of your tragic loss. The loss of a child must be unbearable. Whilst I totally disagree with Tan on his handling of Cardiff City I totally salute the bloke for this wonderful gesture.
