Rangers boss, Ally McCoist, has declared an interest in Cardiff City midfielder Don Cowie, but Burnley and Blackburn Rovers are leading the chase.

The 31-year-old is out of contract this summer and free to talk to interested clubs.

Cowie will certainly not be short of offers.

Relegated Cardiff want him to stay to help get them out of the Championship at the first attempt and have offered a two-year contract.

But Cowie is waiting to see what develops with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s close-season shake-up.

Premiership new boys Burnley are weighing up a move for Cowie, with their manager Sean Dyche having previously worked with him at Watford.

Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer is also keen but is waiting for club chiefs to put a financial package together. Championship rivals Huddersfield and his former club Watford are interested too.

Guessing Burnleys name only mentioned cos of the Sean Dyche and Watford connection. Cant see them keen on wanting him for Prem football
Im hoping he does leave. Good player in his 1st year with us and allways a top pro, but looks like he needs a change to freshen things up for himself and free up wages on our part

I say just let him go. I remember first seeing him and I was amazed by his energy but then I realised he couldn't do anything else. We can't get better than cowie.

No yes from Cowie yet, I would definately withdraw the offer. He dont look keen enough to stay, otherwise he would've accepted weeks ago. Its a shame, I think he would've done really good for us in championship. :|
