Cardiff City today confirmed the appointment of Ken Choo, who joins the club in the role of general manager.

But what do we know about Mr Choo?

He is a Bachelor of Commerce and a member of the Australian CPA


He is also a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and an Associate Member of the Tax Institute of Malaysia


He served as a Senior Auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Malaysia.


He has extensive management experience in the corporate business sector, including his most recent position as General Manager at Berjaya Hotels and Resorts in London.

On the appointment, executive chairman Mehmet Dalman said: “We are pleased to welcome Ken to Cardiff City in the role of general manager, adding a wealth of knowledge and experience as the club moves forward.

“Ken will be responsible for shaping the business, making us more efficient and getting the best out of our talented staff.

“Ken will also join the newly formed Executive Committee, alongside Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Tan Sri Vincent Tan’s representative and myself.

“The committee will openly discuss and agree all major decisions in the best interests of Cardiff City, which is a positive step for this club to take.”

This new Executive Committee sounds interesting. Ole, Dalman, Tan's representative, and Choo. If Dalman really is a football man, then now's his chance to prove it. But I suppose Tan really controls everything.

I don't think you're being cynical! This could happen for the reasons you gave. I am quite excited about the prospect of a "fresh set of eyes" on the situation. Tan can just state publicly that he is leaving the decision to his general manager. We could return to BLUE but I'm not sure how much notice the FA needs for this. The new strip hasn't been unveiled yet so maybe it's not too late for the coming season???
