I've noticed quite alot of hatred towards England over the past few days. It has made me create this account.

I'm sure alot of people that have posted hateful comments have perfectly legitimate reasons for hating our cousins across the way. If you would like to reply and tell me what has happened in your life for you to hate England. Gloating about sport aside, as every single country does it. I'm sure alot of it comes down to "Ummmm I dunno, just hate the english dun I?" "My father hated em so I will aswell".

simply a football rivalry. believe it or not i don't hate people from swansea or bristol either, but i'd consider them rival teams. No one wants their neighbors doing too much better than them.

for me personally, it is sport and sport alone that i dislike the English over. I obviously like to have banter, but I also dislike the english media around WC time as they usually think they have a divine right to do well.

No one is stopping you or anyone else speaking Welsh now yet you and the majority of this country have chosen not too. I am not against Welsh independence per se but I couldn't give a damn about a language that has never been part of my life. I can count one friend who speaks Welsh fluently and he hasn't spoken it since his mamgu died. I have never understood why the above pisses people off, it's had as much influence on my life as the languages of Lithuania and Nepal.

As for the thread, some people hate the English because they need someone to blame for their lives being a disaster. Thatcher, the Tories or the English is the go to for most of these mongs. This is complete shit on a number of levels, not least due to the fact that 9 out of every 10 German soldiers were killed by the Russians. I guess this, as well as the contribution of Welshmen, Scots, Canadians, Americans, Australians etc. is lost on the Ingurland supporters who boast of winning 'Two world wars and One World Cup'.

I dont hate them, im just not bothered about how they do. i will watch their matches same as all the others, but the results wont bother me except Chile and Brazil coz i got some money on them.

Welsh not was a large contributor to the decline of Welsh but like you said it was the industial revolution that really killed it. S4C is a waste of tax payers money and has had appalling viewing figures. In our schools Welsh is being pushed to the moon and back yet there hasn't been a noticeable increase in the number of speakers. I have my grievances with the way Wales is being treated by Westminster but one of them is not the language which has had no part of my life. I want it to thrive in the Fro but beyond that is there a point?
