Didn't they learn their lesson the first time

Free signing, no doubt clauses related to relegation etc. Could be good business for them.

80k a wk for a player who will play half a season if lucky sounds bad business to me, they could sign 2 good 40k a wk players for those wages.

And you believe everything in the papers?
Would be a great signing for ONE year which we are offering.
100% not true wages wise. Trust me on this one.

The 35-year-old is currently a free agent after being released by Manchester United, putting to end a 12-year relationship with the club having moved to Old Trafford for £30m.
According to the Daily Mail, Harry Redknapp has now moved to make the former England captain the highest paid player at Loftus Road, with a one-year deal on the table.
Ferdinand is said to be interested with a move back to the capital, having previously played for West Ham before his move to Elland Road.
Redknapp is hoping he can persuade the defender, who won six Premier League titles, as well as the Champions League, the FA Cup and the League Cup, to join him at Rangers.
If he can conclude a deal, he will trump Loic Remy as the club’s highest paid player.
Interest in Ferdinand’s services are high, with Aston Villa joining sides from Turkey and the USA showing an interest in the experienced centre-back.

Rio Ferdinand has agreed a deal to sign for QPR and be reunited with Harry Redknapp
Redknapp handed Ferdinand his professional debut at West Ham in 1996
Ferdinand will take a massive pay cut to sign for the newly-promoted side
Deal is expected to be confirmed in the next 24 hours

Even at 80k a week that works out at 4 million for the year. It would be the same as signing someone else for 2 million and paying them 40k a week. Not necessarily bad business if he plays most games.

Nowhere near 80k & still in fantastic shape physically.
What he'll bring in organization, leadership & of course ability will be invaluable in keeping us up next season. We then build from there. All geared to staying up first season back.
I know for a fact we are after another young strong CB based in your region of the world as he has the same advisor as Rio.
Could be a very strong pairing should it come off.

Rio is not the player he was, not by a long shot. If I was a QPR fan, I'd personally be a little concerned by this signing. Looks like Harry spending money again just for the sake of it.

Same as last time. QPR just don't learn.

Good work by Rio's agent there, one last big payday before he moves into coaching!
£80k a week at 36 years old, stays in the PL and moves back to London, he couldn't really ask for a better deal.

All about opinions.
Free transfer for 1 year. No brainier.
Superb business.

They clearly haven't learned then.

he is the best centre back england have had in probably 20 years, he is not the player he was 5-6 years ago but he is still a good player and twice the player of a caulker or turner.
at £4m for a year he could be the best signing of the season for QPR.
