A forum for all things Cardiff City

Unfortunately today Austin lost his short battle with cancer, only told a few weeks ago he didn't have long and it was too late to do anything. He followed city for years with the Barry lads, normally on Martin Payne's bus. He was Cardiff through and through and a top guy! Always welcoming to anyone and a very enjoyable chap!
RIP Mate, thinking of Jacko his son and the rest of the family x

I am saddened by this. I knew the end was near but not nice to hear. Austin (aka Alf Garnett) was a top bloke and I always enjoyed his company. What stories! Mad days on the Doh a Deer bus.
In memorium Alf, we often had a chorus of this somewhere on the motorway:

Had the pleasure of knowing Alfie and travelled many a mile all over the country supporting the City with him.
A Top Bloke and a Gentleman. My thoughts are with Jacko and his family and the many people who knew him

Sad news indeed. We've lost another true Bluebird and a great character. Fond memories of some great away-days with Alfie and the crew on Paynie's coach.
