Palace fan: Cardiff and Leicester interested in midfielder

From Palace blog:

The South African football site Kickoff.com are today reporting that Kagisho Dikgacoi, whose contract with Crystal Palace is on the verge of expiring, is a summer transfer target for Leicester City and Cardiff City.

The central midfielder, who has been with the club since February of 2011, is thought to be keen to extend his stay in South London, but with talks over a new contract still yet to reach a positive conclusion, it’s no surprise to see other potential suitors circling.

Whilst many Palace fans wouldn’t necessarily categorise Dikgacoi as pivotal to the team’s chances of success next year, there are definitely elements to his game which remain unappreciated in the eyes of many.

Having made over 100 starting appearances for the club since joining, it’s fair to say that every manager he’s played under has valued what he brings to the side, with his game best described as solid if not spectacular.

Sitting in the heart of our midfield next to Mile Jedinak, KG has often swept up any potential threats in front of our back four without any great level of showmanship, he’s not one for a crunching sliding tackle or a burst of eye-catching pace, but when tasked with providing a barrier to the opposition’s attempts to cultivate any attacking momentum, he’s shown himself to be surprisingly adept.

With Joe Ledley, Barry Bannan, Adlène Guedioura, Stuart O’Keefe and Jonny Williams already on our books, there is a school of thought to suggest that we could do without KG as we move forward, but I would suggest, given the frequency with which Pulis used him last season, that the club will still be extremely keen to get a new contract signed before too long.

Better than Medel IMO. More to his game than sweeping up and a modern midfielder who is more influential going forward. Medel is more of a specialist in what he does though.

Palace Fan here

He's extremely limited, its like having a central defender in the midfield.

He always looks overweight aswell, he can put in a tackle put cant pass or control a ball to save his life, I actually think we (palace) can get a much better upgrade this year.
