" Its Been Reported Cardiff City have accepted the offer "

Fri Jun 06, 2014 4:14 pm

World Football.

Friday 6th June 2014.

' Cardiff are believed to have accepted a fee of around £800,000 from Leicester for Fraizer Campbell. '

Cardiff City have reportedly accepted a bid of around £800,000 for their striker Fraizer Campbell from Leicester City.

With the Foxes returning to the Premier League and the Bluebirds facing the daunting prospect of another Championship season, it will probably be no contest with regard to the choice Campbell makes on his future.

Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman has issued an unlikely consolation statement saying Campbell can hopefully stay in the Welsh capital.

"Leicester City have made an offer which triggers a release clause in Fraizer's contract," Dalman said according to WalesOnline. "We don't want to sell him and would love him to stay but we had no choice because of the clause. We have to allow Fraizer to make his own decision but hopefully he can stay."

Dalaman also stated " We have however, already signed three strikers, so the presumption is he's unfortunately set to leave us you would think. The question remains will it be for newly promoted Leicester, or another side. "

The Norwegian has brought in no less than three strikers in Javi Guerra, Federico Macheda and Adam Le Fondre, with Kenwyne Jones also at the club.

In terms of ability and experience, Campbell would likely get in the Bluebirds side ahead of the new arrivals, but will no doubt want to continue to test himself at Premier League level.

Campbell was Cardiff’s top goal-scorer last season with eight goals, and netted against both Manchester City and Manchester United as the Welsh club took points of two of the league’s big-hitters.

But are there any factors that would make Campbell want to stay at Cardiff over another move to a bottom-half Premier League club?

The club clearly means something to Campbell, whether it be via social media or his celebrations when scoring a goal, no player was as passionate about keeping Cardiff in the Premier League last season.

He is a fan favourite, always stopping to sign an autograph or have a picture taken before and after games. Campbell was also a big part of achieving promotion to the Premier League with the club, the biggest, most eagerly awaited achievement in their recent history.

There are many reasons why heart may rule over head regarding his transfer, but in the relatively short career of a professional footballer, the top-flight opportunity is always hard to turn down.

Dalman states we dont want to sell Campbell, but then says
" We have however, already signed three strikers, so the presumption is he's unfortunately set to leave us you would think. The question remains will it be for newly promoted Leicester, or another side. "

So you cant blame Campbell if he leaves,it looks like he is not wanted any way.
Good luck to you Campbell, I thought you did a great job for Cardiff City :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Always play at the highest level possible as playing careers are short.

im sure he`ll have a low release clause as well with Leicester , this will enable him and agent larger signing on fee and salary

How can you come to the conclusion that he's not wanted when every statement from the chairman and manager has been along the lines of them trying to talk him into staying?? If he has a release clause, which has been activated then it's up to the player, if Campbell wants to stay he can put a stop to it right now. That won't happen so its him that obviously want to move on. Good luck to him, he's always given 100%, but in my opinion is distinctly average and wont be missed in this Championship campaign. :bluescarf:

Not the best striker but he works hard, still I think we got enough fire power without him

it's my belief that they would have prefered Campbell to stay and have done everything to convince him to, but that was a long shot given he has the low fee as a release clause and his wages have just halved, so little chance of him sticking around. You will of course have a more negative opinion as that is your nature at the moment :bluescarf:

It seems dalman has accepted Campbell does not want to stay, so is making good of a bad situation saying we have signed 3 already, looks pretty clear to me.

Pitty as he would have eaten this league and it's a tiny fee. Arguably Malky's best signing in context and he's even managed to f**k that up.

Crazy to think that 8 months after Malky left we could start the season with zero of his players starting yet Marshall, McNaughton, Hudson and Whitts could all start from Dave Jones' era. Granted Dave Jines was a dinosaur off the field and couldn't sign a CM to save his life but when he found gems they were really good.

In terms of transfer policy, we have already signed three very capable strikers for very little money considering their goal scoring records, I don't see what is not to trust in the running of those deals?

Ive not said there is nothing to trust regarding the 3 new strikers, I believe they could end up being good signings, I am on about the running of our club and what comes out of it to the press as you know.

sounds like you are trying to suggest that fc is being pushed out the door but what i am reading is that the club would like him to stay but malky has allowed the player such a low release clause that the clubs hands are tied, but not to panick as ole has already brought in 3 strikers

Our Club last season, with Tans daft statements in the press and even Dalman made laughable ones regarding relegation, does hurt the club in my opinion.
Also the debt rising and our club so divided by how the club has been run the last 2 years has hurt it big time and there in no doubting that.

Facts

Were now back in the Championship.
Were Divided in the club and out.
We have No identity.
We get false promises on a debt free club.
The debt is about £150mill.
Season ticket sales are now as low as 14,000 in an increased stadium holding 33,000, that to me says a lot, if fans were not fed up, we would of sold 23,000 plus.

Now maybe you can see why some fans like myself are now feeling negative.

Maybe your happy by it all, but I am certainly not, but I will still be going, but seems thousands of others are not.

Good luck to him, he's always given 100%, but in my opinion is distinctly average and wont be missed in this Championship campaign. :bluescarf:

When you sign 3 more strikers and then Dalman Says " We have however, already signed three strikers, so the presumption is he's unfortunately set to leave us you would think. The question remains will it be for newly promoted Leicester, or another side. "
You can take your own assumption on this,Ive taken mine and if I was Campbell I would feel I wasnt wanted and also my opinion on it

Not how I see it, the day after the last match of the season there was a story about all the clubs that wanted Campbell and the 800k clause. Looked like his agent was shopping him around. Just the fact that he had a relegation clause tells you that he was here to play PL football and the minute we are down he is looking for a new team. You can't expect OGS to sit around and wait for Campbell to make up his mind and potentially loose the opportunity to sing other players. And besides we had to strengthen that part of the squad anything else would be foolish.

This website is flowing of Annis negativity. I can understand some of it, but his potition as owner of this website makes him capable of divide the fans even more. Dont think this is what he wants, but he doesnt seem Ccfc supportive at all atm...[/quote]
