DALMAN "We don't want to sell him"

Thu Jun 05, 2014 4:21 pm

Thursday 5th June 2014.

Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman insists he wants Fraizer Campbell to remain a Bluebird - despite Leicester City talks. The Bluebirds chairman admits the club had to accept the offer for their star striker but says he would dearly love Campbell to stay.

Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman had not choice but to accept Leicester City's £800,000 bid for Fraizer Campbell but has sent out a plea to the striker to stay and help them fight their way back to the Premier League.

Shortly after accepting the bid that actioned a clause in Campbell's contract, Dalman said: "Leicester City have made an offer which triggers a release clause in Fraizer's contract.

"We don't want to sell him and would love him to stay but we had no choice because of the clause. We have to allow Fraizer to make his own decision but hopefully he can stay."

No it wasn't a buy out clause in Suarezs contract if there was they'd have no choice but to accept.

Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman has confirmed that Premier League new boys Leicester City have activated a release clause in Fraizer Campbell's contract.

Earlier today, it was reported that the Foxes had triggered the 26-year-old's buyout clause in South Wales.

Although admitting that Cardiff are powerless to prevent Campbell from leaving, Dalman is hopeful that the striker will snub a move back to the top flight in favour of remaining with the Bluebirds.

"Leicester City have made an offer which triggers a release clause in Fraizer's contract," Dalman told Wales Online.

"We don't want to sell him and would love him to stay but we had no choice because of the clause. We have to allow Fraizer to make his own decision but hopefully he can stay."

The former Manchester United youth has two years remaining on his Cardiff contract.

There was a buy out clause of 40 mill hence the Arsenal bid of 40 mill plus 1p. Liverpool chairman confirmed this and still turned down the offer saying contracts aint worth the penny they are written on. This case is different tho as Campbell is in talks with Leicester. Liverpool wouldnt let Suarez go for talks even

Dalman states we dont want to sell Campbell, but then says

" We have however, already signed three strikers, so the presumption is he's unfortunately set to leave us you would think. The question remains will it be for newly promoted Leicester, or another side. "

So you cant blame Campbell if he leaves
