According to many newspapers Ronny Deila, friend of Ole Gunnar Solskjær and current manager of Strømsgodset in Norway, will be announced as the new head manager of Celtic tomorrow. As a Strømsgodset fan myself I must admit that I did not expect this at all and I'm absolutely gutted to see Ronny leave. I don't expect you to know who he is, but he is as I said the current manager of Strømsgodset and lead the team to the league title last season in front of Ole Gunnar's Molde, who ended on a second place.
He's 38 years old, and is being described as the new Jurgen Klopp, because of his ability to develop young players. He gave Martin Ødegaard his debut this year, at an age of 16, and is the youngest player that has ever played in the norwegian league. He is good friends with both Jurgen Klopp and Brendan Rodgers, and visits both clubs occasionaly, to learn more about their different tactics and play style, and to look more in dept in their academies.
Strømsgodset have declined Celtic's offer once, but they are still undergoing negotiations, and it is said that the Celtic board will announce him as their new manager tomorrow.

Interesting. Presumably, Celtic need somebody with European experience.

Great move for both Celtic and Deila. But I really don't see Deila bringing in any Norwegians... I think he has learned a bit by watching Ole in Cardiff. Not that I don't think Ole is up for the challenge. just think Ole was a bit too ambitious, and tried to implement his style of play with extremely bad timing, considering Cardiff's position in the premiership.

This guys certainly a character and has done very well considering he took Strømsgodset from relegation battlers, to winning the domestic cup and then the league title. Very impressive.
I feel a bit sorry for him, kind of like i did with Ole in a sense. He'll go to celtic and the majority of them will be demanding instant success in the champions league qualifiers. If they dont make the group stages then he will be under real pressure and if they dont win the title by 50 clear points while playing amazing football the whole time it will only get worse.
Oh and god help him if they lose to rangers in their first match in donkeys, no pressure eh!
