Declan John good enough defensively

I have every faith in Declan John to be a good player in the championship he's great going forward as an attacking full back but my only concern is is he good enough defensively and will he be good enough defensively in the championship or will he be a weak link at left back in our defense? Opinions?

Well his natural position is winger, I don't understand why he just doesn't mention his real position, strange.

Poor defensively, good running with the ball, crossing, paying and decision making poor.

A loan away would be my preference, certainly not a starter. I I think people are underestimating the championship.

A loan move? Come on, young full backs don't exactly do everything right. He will learn.

Exactly, let him make his mistakes elsewhere and come back to us a better player.

Adam Matthews all over again, not good enough defending and stopping the crosses......

He was very unlucky in being thrown in at the deep end in a new unfamiliar position in not only a struggling team but one of the worst organised back units I can remember. Don't think he had a lot of help with his positional play which would have been handy off the likes of caulker. I really hope has a youngster and local boy he won't be affected because he his a talent but don't think it will be fulfilled as a defender.
