What, like us?
There are no bigger clubs than Swansea in the PL who need a manager. Get real.

Garry Monk kept them up, big time. Not a good example.

No, I said bigger. Not just in need of a manager. They finished 17th, -16 GD and only 3 points clear of relegation, plus players leaving.

Laudrup won them trophies. If they are settling for just keeping up then I guess monk is ok.

Still bigger than the smallest club in the Premiership

No, Laudrup won them ONE trophy. He didn't win promotion of survival of the first year.
I agree Monk is untried, but so is OGS.

Well that's not a good example either my friend. Prior to cardiff, Ogs won something every season with the teams he managed. Monk has done nothing whatsoever. Also Swansea squad was far better than ours, plus experienced in PL, so I don't consider it much of an achievement to keep them up.

What are you on about?
OGS didn't keep us up. Didn't matter what Swans had in their squad because they finished way above us. Bottom line is we finished bottom. Monk has done more in this sense. I agree that OGS has achieved elsewhere, but it is just that: Another place, another league, another standard, etc, etc.
He is still unproven in the English leagues and has some work to do on his managerial skills as well as his squad selection. Show me this post in 12 months and I will be happy to be wrong, but we have a challenge this year.

Where did I say he kept us up?![]()
I just pointed out that Ogs has never failed until he came to cardiff. He has won plenty of titles monk has won exactly nothing . And it's pretty odd to state the quality of the squad doesn't matter. As if.

What I'm saying is that OGS has won titles which are quite irrelevant in the English PL. With respect, Monk has won survival. OGS didn't.
My statement about the squad is not odd because Swansea finished a long way ahead of us. He had money to spend in January but didn't get enough points to escape relegation. I will support the team and OGS but he is unproven as yet. If he gets promotion, then he can be considered successful.
First you suggested he has done just as well as laudrup now he is on par in achievemnents with ole. We will have to agree to disagree Thu Jun 05, 2014 2:36 pm
