One of the most exiting defenders a few years back. Injuries set him back and been struggling this year. Italy would be perfect for him

It wasn't to long ago he was linked with a 10m move to Arsenal. Haven't seen enough of him to judge this season.

Contracted until July 2015 with the option of a further year. Hmmmm
Looks like Fulham are starting to cut thier financial cloth by getting rid of big earners. FFP is having an effect.

He had a tough last year at Fulham, struggeling with injuries and style of play (after Martin Jol).
But on form, he's top class. Premier League class that is. Yes, he's slow, but he's strong as a bull, great in the air both defensively and at att. set pieces. Intelligent, commanding, calm and a decent passer.
If his wages aren't too much trouble, it's a great chance.
Comparing him to Hudson is ridiculous. Hangeland is twice the player, imho. Mertesacker is a more suitable comparison.

Injury prone. He won´t be able to play much more football at the highest level, I´m afraid. Achilles problems and a bad back. Still very calm with the ball, but not as sharp in duels as he ones was. Ole won´t sign him.

Have to mention this.. Pretty disrespectful, if you ask me. Fulhams captain and over six years of service:
(my translation)
- Today I recieved the news that Fulham have chosen to terminate my contract with the club, effect immediately. I got the message about the decision through e-mail, without noone at the club having met with me on beforehand to discuss my contract nor my future at the club, says Hangeland to Dagbladet, through his advisor Jon Mørland.
He continues:
- After 6,5 years of loyal and hard work, the last few years as the captain, I am immensely disappointed in the way this has been handled by the club. I would like to thank the great Fulham fans which I have had the pleasure of spending the best years of my footballing career with.
---------
Pretty damn harsh! How can they treat their captain, or any staff for that matter, like that? Disrespectful.
