Wales lost 3-2 in the last minutes of the match with Portugal this afternoon.

All looked lost for Geraint Williams' side as they went 2-0 down to the hosts after 33 minutes in Matosinhos, but the side never gave-up and found a way back after an own goal on 76 minutes from Andre Silva. Four minutes later, Cardiff City's Tom O'Sullivan levelled the score at 2-2 and it was all to play for in the final ten minutes in a match that both sides were looking to win.

Heartbreak came for Wales when in the last moments of the game, when defender Luis Rafael scored the decisive third goal with little or no time left for another comeback from Wales. That was how the game ended.

On goal attempts, Portugal were well ahead, but Wales fought to the end to make sure they remained in contention and so nearly came-away with a point that would have kept chances alive going-in to the final round of matches.

In the other match, Belgium beat Greece 4-2.

The results mean that Portugal has 6 points, Belgium 4, Wales 1 and Greece 0. Only the top team can qualify. The final matches will be on Monday with Portugal meeting Belgium in the decider, whilst Wales and Greece will play each other for third / fourth place.
