A forum for all things Cardiff City

With parking tickets on the rise around the area of the Cardiff City Stadium, can anyone tell me what measures are in place with the current expansion possibly adding 5000 people to the stadium each game? Seems a bit strange that our current car park is smaller than Asda, Costco & the retail parks car park.
Read on the internet that stadiums are now looking at ways to build multi-storey car parks under ground, but wouldn't be able to stop flooding during heavy rain.

Well as attendances will be down from last season so does it matter?

More pressure needs to be put on the train companies and the welsh assembly should get involved.
Ninian park train times are disgusting and how can you put on 2 or 3 carriages for the valleys?
I should imagine they do nothing just to collect more parking fines on matchdays

The area where they're supposedly turning into a Lidl should have been converted to a car park. Parking was bad enough in the Championship last time, if we ever draw a 33,000 crowd it will be mayhem.
Perfect opportunity for the train and bus companies to drop prices a bit to get people using public transport more

I've never had a problem, I just park up 10 min walk and I'm there!

MultiStory car park is the best option for the club in my eyes. Even with attendances of 19,000, its a nightmare. Unless the club gets a partnership with First & Aviva, I can't see nothing getting done and thousands getting collected on match days in fines.

What's the procedure for Season Ticket holders getting hold of a parking permit, please?

I can understand fans with walking difficulties parking at the stadium, but I for one park up in Canton or Pontcanna and walk, whatever the weather.
I could park nearer but choose to park there - I love the walk down, the build up, and the walk back and the post-match autopsy; all part and parcel of my match day. Even better when we stop off at the café beforehand, great chat and scran in there.
I also get away in decent time from Pontcanna as the traffic is horrendous after a match from the ground, and it takes me 2 mins to get through Penhill lights and away from where I park.
I have used the Rhymney valley line to Grangetown, good service in and out of there up to here.
Each to their own, but parking issues at CCS is not something I can understand to be honest - happy to hear other reasons though

Just get the wife to drop you at pub then pick you up closing time. Much easier.

When I lived on the Gabalfa Estate, I used to walk to the stadium, and Ninian Park before it. Now I'm back in Carmarthen, so I drive up to the games. My dad, who's 85, usually comes with me, so it's easier for him,(and me, I'm not getting any younger!), to park in the stadium car park. We're in block A, and our STs are in block 103. It's not cheap, but there are usually 3 or 4 of us in the car coming to the game, so it doesn't work out bad at all. We usually wait until about half an hour after the game before getting back into the car, and exit onto Sloper Road. It's busy, but not too bad. Worth it, overall.

Normally, they go on sale to existing permit holders first, then on general sale from first of July. I've had a permit for the last three seasons, and its worth it, especially if there are two or three of you in the car. Best phone the ticket office, they'll let you know when they go on general sale.
