Ninian stand extension question.

Wed May 28, 2014 6:10 pm

Does anyone know what is the capacity of the new top tier and have the club managed to sell all the seats for next season?

Capacity is 5000+ and between 800-1000 season tickets sold for the main section. Not sure how many sold for the hospitality section, doubt its many. :(

If your figures are correct then we have sold less than a fifth of the capacity for next season. Not exactly a rip roaring success so why isn't the club doing more to advertise the empty seats?

I'm guessing that CCFC didn't plan on being relegated when to new stand was given the go ahead when the revOLEution started ?

I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was around 3500 in the upper tier and a further 1500 seats added on the lower tier.

Yeah, it's 3600 in the top section and 1550 in the middle section which is a 2nd 'Premier Club' area.

We're in the Championship now. Of course we're not going to sell all those seats, let alone the 28000 seats we already had.

Problem the club will have now is the silly prices of season tickets, they have already sold a load so decreasing them wont be an option. They can advertise as much as they wont but I dont think many people will be interested.

Martyn, I read somewhere that the new stand wasn't about us being promoted to the Premiership, but it was to do with the "business" side of Vincent Tan's grand plans for the club (including the forthcoming European game)

Apparently, under the new Fair Play Rules, we will need to "prove" income streams or face sanctions for overspending (like Man City)

I may well be wrong, but I'm sure I read this somewhere (probably on here)

Like him or not Tan's long term plans clearly involve being in the top division.

For the majority of our games last year we could have sold thousands more, so building the is stand means that the cub is more able to take advantage of the support IF/WHEN we go up. The ground is an asset for the club when you sell it as any buyer will have ambitions to grow it.

extension was always the aim even when stadium was being planned and built! hence why it's been done so easily and cheaply compared to similar planned extensions! being in premier only hastened it being done :old: !
