ASHLEY WILLIAMS WANTS OUT !!

Ashley Williams has told Swansea that he doesn't want to play for them next season and has asked for an immediate move.Arsenal are prepared to pay around 3million for him!!

It's not about how much it would cost to replace him, it's about how much it would cost us if we were relegated... If £3 million was the highest bid, I would keep him for the last year of his contract and give us time to find a proper replacement.

It's his last big contract so his agent will be all guns blazing to get him a bumper deal. Honestly don't rate him as highly as some do... Certainly don't think he is good enough for Arsenal.

Do you not think that as he has been loyal to you (5 seasons?) then you owe it to him to move to a bigger club if an appropriate offer comes in. Personally I think he is a good player but not quite good enough for top 4. Everton would be ideal for him in my opinion.fee in region of 5 million

I don't think any of us would argue if he wanted to try a higher level, but as you said, the key would be an appropriate offer. Around £5 million would probably lead to it being considered.

Not particularly, hes been here 6 years i believe. We plucked him from Stockport and in turn gave him the chance to earn a fortune, become a premier league footballer and represent the club in Europe and have a major cup winners medal.

£3m would leave us in a heap of trouble replacing our backbone of our defence and captain of the side. If he goes then its on our terms, If anyone owed anyone anything then he owes us a lot more than we owe him.

Although im not sure is subscribe to the notion of "owing a club or player" in football to be honest.

I don't think any of us would argue if he wanted to try a higher level, but as you said, the key would be an appropriate offer. Around £5 million would probably lead to it being considered.

Its similar with us and Marshall. If a top 4 club comes in he deserves to have opportunity and if the 15 million bid from Arsenal is true i'd bite their hands off. He's worth 7-8 million.

Fair enough. What wages is he on? 20k?

About 25k-30k id say. A lot of our contracts are heavily weighted in incentives and bonus based, so not easy to know how much a contract is worth.

Id imagine hes looking for a 40k-45k a week contract. Time will tell if huw thinks he is worth it, id say he probably is.

I can only rate him from watching Wales and to be honest I'd be shocked if he went to Arsenal, he's too inconsistent and is more of a liability than a captain on occasions. Not saying he hasn't performed well for us but, I wouldn't say he would improve Arsenal, maybe it's to do with the English based players rule.

I rate Williams, decent defender who has a good range of passing but of equal importance he is a good organiser. He's been key to the Jack's success and I'd be gobsmacked if he was allowed to leave for £3m?
£5-6m minimum I'd say even considering his age.

Hes too old to get that big move now. Should have made the jump 2 years ago.
