Yes but his wages are gna be wasted on someone who couldn't hold a place down at Doncaster

What a dreadful signing this would be. I hope this isn't going to be a trend from Ole, sign Man United's deadweight just because he coached them a few years back.

Re: Federico Macheda

Sat May 24, 2014 10:28 pm

Had a good end of the season, 10 goals in 18 appearances for Birmingham. How many did our top scorer get when we went up?

I doubt his wages will be huge.

Did you not see how he played at, Qpr, Sampdoria, Stuttgart and Doncaster? Yeah, 3 goals in over 40 odd appearances. But oh well, least he did well at one of his clubs, right?

Didn't know he played for Doncaster. If his wages are small I'm happy, But I don't think he's any better than Maynard, Campbell or Mason, Not forgetting the new striker too.

10 goals in 18 games for Birmingham, 8 of which were as sub.
Seems a decent record at championship level in a struggling team that didn't score that many goals. In fact he was the only player they had who got into double figures for league goals despite his limited appearances.

Yes, his most recent club. Shows he may well have found his form and clearly has the quality to play at this level.

Re: Federico Macheda

Mason 6 goals in 16 games on loan aged 23
Maynard 4 goals in 16 games on loan aged 27
Macheda 10 goals in 18 games on loan aged 22

Ho lee shit why?

Granted he got a good return in a shite brim team but he's not what we need.

Feels like Zaha all over again.

Would love to eat my words on this one.

Why couldn't he do it at Doncaster then? Both are equally as shit and he couldn't score for them either (and the loan was recent)

We really must be scrapping right at the bottom for muck like Macheda.

Not sure what your trying to prove, OK it didn't work at Doncaster for him but his recent form shows he can score at this level. It's about having the right players in the right system. Look Look at odemwingy, didn't work at Cardiff because malky played him as a target man, doesn't that mean he isn't a good player? His move to stoke showed otherwise. otherwise.

13 goals in 33 Championship appearances for poor teams. Not a total waste of a free transfer.

he Scored one wonder goal for utd and he's a world beater.

Ironicly people still remember that  I bet they love utd so much that they know everything about macheda

Not trying to prove anything, after all it is there for all to see, he is awful. I'm sorry but it isn't my fault that I am not excited that we're (possibly) signing a very poor player who has failed to score at 4 of his 6 loan clubs (despite making over 10 appearances) Especially when you consider how poor our record has been with strikers over the last few seasons.

Also your Odemwingie comparison is ridiculous. He was proven as a good Premier League goal scorer with WBA and did well at Lokomotiv and Lille. Granted, his move here didn't work, but that is common in players. Sometimes clubs just do not fit you, that happened once with PO, it has happened 6 times with Macheda.

Maybe he just lost form at those clubs it happens and now he is finding it again, a free transfer and not massive wages got to be worth a shot

Re: Federico Macheda

I'm not comparing the players, im pointing out a player can play for 2 teams in 1 season and look looks different player and experience totally different form.

It's a risk of course but his recent form early shows he can score at this level in the right set up. You don't need to be excited. Lots of were excited about Cornelius, doesn't mean he is good.

Judge him when /if he plays for us, on a free though and I doubt huge wages.
