We talk about our identity, I dont see how signing a team of non english speaking superstars and playing in blue would give us our identity.
Either way your selling out to success red, blue, pink, burgande whats the difference your a sell out to a team of foreign superstars who cant even spell the name of your team in english - is that good for a club?
at least back in the early championship days we had a club with real players (we still have that now) but to become successful at the top end it has to change.,
personally I like real people, players on real wages with a passion for the game and a desire for their country - which happened to be britain.
not plastic sell outs who use you for the money or the stepping stone and then fu** off as soon as your relagated without even a flinch or a spec of sentiment for who we are.

im refering to the likes of manchester city and what it takes to become successful in this day and age.
im not saying as we are now... we are not even successful we've just been relagated and played one of the worst brands in the top flight![]()
I really dont think being a top class club is the answer I enjoy the lower leagues real fans, real players, real people

To be fair I didn't enjoy the prem as much as I hoped to, we did go into the league with the most English players and if we had a decent manager that knew how to buy and use his players who know where we would have been now, but I say roll on the championship more games and a more competitive league

But it's just the same as it's always been.
Mate's grandfather used to play for boot money i.e. a sovereign in his shoe when he came off the pitch.
Are you asking the club to settle for mediocrity?
What's the point of leagues?
Why bother with promotion? Get upset about relegation?
On to your question. We need success to be consistent with a top City club, have the finance to progress etc. Do we want it? I do. I've followed my club for many years in search of success. Many obviously don't want it or if they do express themselves very strangely.
Small minds. Stupid. I thought that after observing the Cardiff Blues disaster we were better than that but obviously not.

We all want success & improvement... Personally I don't want it at the cost of the clubs traditions & identity.
