An estate agent is going blue as Vincent Tan’s Cardiff City kit controversy rumbles on.

Lifelong Bluebirds fan Anthony Parris, 35, is kicking off a new scheme to sell houses – by offering a change from the company’s red branding.

Posing in front of his freshly-repainted fleet car, the staunch supporter said his rebranding exercise would bring fans together as the dispute over his team’s colours continued.

Mr Parris, a director at Mr Homes estate agents, said he came up with the idea to celebrate 10 years of selling homes across west Cardiff.

He said: “Simply put, customers now have a choice of red or blue boards. Our staff and customers are divided over the branding at Cardiff City, so now they have a choice.”

And he said the move’s popularity was already showing, with vendors having asked for replacement signs bearing the new colours already.

It has taken off online, with Bluebirds flocking to the cause and voicing their support through social media.

He said: “I only picked the car up on Wednesday, but it’s already gone massive.”

After the perils of overnight rebranding had been shown, with City split between red and blue, Mr Parris, who lives in Whitchurch, said the change would be a gradual one.

But he said: “If more and more customers choose blue, who knows – we may even change our entire brand.”

Having been a dedicated supporter since the age of six, he has sponsored players including Jordan Mutch, Gary Medel, Kevin Mcnaughton and Robert Earnshaw.

He also sponsored the match ball in the Bluebirds’ big win against Manchester City during their first ever Premier League home game.

And he said this experience as a supporter showed him the importance of unity and hopes the message he wants to spread will make its way around Cardiff quickly.

Mr Parris said he hoped engaging people in this light-hearted way would endear fans and customers alike, adding: “Business and sport should unite people as fans and customers alike. There is no place for divided loyalty in either.”

Estate agents are not the sharpest of tools but 'Mr Homes' has managed to get some free publicity from the rebrand with this cheap stunt. Thank god he's not a Milkman.

Natman red speaks out.

FairPlay to him. The rebrand at ccfc is wrong. Mr Parris is getting free publicity for his business whilst publicising opposition to vinnies dreadful rebrand that Natman loves.
