Leicester make £1million bid for Cardiff striker Fraizer Campbell
Bluebirds want Campbell to stay but striker may want move back to Premier League club
Foxes have also agreed to sign Matthew Upson and Marc Albrighton

Leicester have made a £1million offer for Cardiff striker Fraizer Campbell and hope to seal a deal this weekend.
The Bluebirds are keen to keep the 26-year-old, but a move back to the Premier League will surely tempt Campbell.
The Foxes have already snapped up Brighton defender Matthew Upson and Aston Villa's Marc Albrighton as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the Premier League season.

I like campbell but think we should let him go and get in someone who gonna score more goals which he lacl but his workrate is good

I'd be asking for £2.5m at the very least. He's over his injury issues for the most part and runs his absolute socks off. If we can't have him scoring for fun in The Championship then make another team work to take him off our hands.

Worth much more to us than a mil, he'll bang loads in in the championship

I like Campbell but take the cash.

if OGS is gonna be taken seriously let him build his own team & lets see what he CAN do.

He was doomed to fail last season.

So you're saying you want Ole to let Campbell, Marshall, Mutch and the rest of the players he inherited go and assemble his own team, even if he can't bring in anyone better than Campbell, Marshall and Mutch?

How can you say Ole was doomed to fail last season when we were ABOVE the relegation zone when he took over? :?

Anyway, I wouldn't take anything less than 5 million for Campbell. He will be sensational for us in the Championship as he will have less defending and off the ball running to do meaning when he has chances, he won't be as fatigued.

So what happened to the supposed £800k release clause? If there's no clause then we've no reason to let him go so cheaply.

Can't let him go for any less than £2.5m. £1m is insulting

Stop me if I'm wrong but I didn't say any of that. If he wants to go let him & lets see what OGS can do with a full transfer window & season ahead of him.

Personally I don't think he up to the job.

£5m for Campbell lmao, what justifies a £4.5m increase

The fact he scored 7 goals in 12 games in the Championship and was our best outfield player last season. Campbell ran his guts out for us every game isolated up front on his own against 4 defenders in a struggling team. Campbell's contribution to our team was massive and if you can't see that and you can't understand why Campbell should command such a high fee, then you don't understand football.

If anyone buys him they will be a Premier League team.

So, same question, what justifies the £4.5million increase? He is not proven at that level but a team may take him for a million.

Beacause another team will play him upfront with another player, not on his own

And he might get a few more chances with another side...

£1m isn't enough. I'd want to keep him as he's shown he can score regularly in the Championship, he gives us options and we need 4-5 quality strikers with different attributes (targetman, pace, poacher, worker etc...) - it's a long season in the Champ and injuries/suspensions/loss of form will happen.

I'd guess the fact clubs are coming in with these low offers indicates there IS a release clause of sorts and Leicester bidding a bit above it might just be trying to tempt City into talking to them rather than others.

A few weeks ago figures of £5m + were being mentioned - which would be much more interesting.

He is worth more than 1 million to us. His ratio when he signed for us in the championship over a full season would give him over 20 goals. That would be massive for us so I would want minimum 3.5 million to find a replacement

Campbell will be shouting from the rooftops to any club who will want him no doubt his agents phone is red hot with him ringing out...... "Show him the money" ......and he will sign for whoever is paying the wonga, like anyone in any job in life

i'd sell him, he seems like he wants out of the club but sell him for more than £1million

He was doomed to fail, Malky's organised but lacking quality and flair squad was not suited to OGS, but a Pullis or Allerdyce, would have kept us up.

It will be interesting to see what OGS can build and if it will work???

I am not Campbell's greatest fan, I feel he wastes to many chances, but I agree he is still worth way more than a Million, and he is much better in the Championship.

I agree with above £2.5 million for a poor premiership Striker must be the minimum.

I think he will go though, as OGS is obviously looking for Strikers and already has one.

I can see him going for about 1.5 million. Would be good for us in the Championship, but in a well organized & motivated Premiership team,,,who knows!

Take the cash , Maynard will the the job for us next season

Re: LEICESTER BID £1M - FRAZIER CAMPBELL .

People say about a 20 goal a season striker, Campbell is exactly that, yet we have people happy to sell him for £1m

Signed him in January, 7 goals in 12 games, put that ratio over a season and your looking at 22-23 goals?

Can't quite believe some of the Campbell slating on here, he was one of the reasons we got up in the first place with some vital goals soon after signing.
He may not have been prolific last season, but he had no consistency around him, he played in various changing systems, a lot of the time up front on his own, even out on the wing?
I would love us to keep him for next season, if he does go? I'd say we could get 2-2.5 m?
Anybody remember early last season after beating Man City and the pundits suggesting Frazer for England............."he'll always score goals", especially if he stays with us in the Championship!

Sense at last

I can't believe what I read on here sometimes.

Campbell :-
Good enough to play up front on his own in the championship - yes, but doesn't need to as we will have a dominant midfield, so will score for fun

Good enough to play up front on his own in the Premier league - No, because we needed to bulk up the midfield by sacrificing a forward- it will be the same for Leicester

How many players can play up front on their own in the premier league ? oh yes the £50 million plus gang.....

I don't go in for slagging off malky but he can't defend his mate Moody's player contracts...... We took a big gamble including his wages on him and he allows this sort of release clause. It was only going to be evoked if he turned out to be the player he was before the injuries, he could have been crocked and turn out to be a multi million pound disaster

Amateur at best, no wonder Vinny wanted rid of him ......
