Has anyone on here ever had a parking ticket when parking in the UHW ? If so did you pay it ? They want £12 if paid within 3 days or £30 after 28days .

They will send you plenty of letters then send a debt collection agency which will incur additional costs for the sake of £12 is it worth it?

Apparently there is a long standing contract at UHW with the parking company, which has to run its course. When it's finished the parking will be free. Tickets issued are civil penalty charges, not fines as such. The company have to sue you for the money if you don't pay, this rarely happens unless you are a regular offender. You will get nasty letters and threats of legal action, but eventually it stops. This is completely different to parking tickets issued by local authority civil enforcement officers on the streets. It's advisable to pay these straight away, unless you have grounds for appeal.

they are idiots at uhw they once put 24 tickets on a car over a period of time despite them knowing why it was there! i use uhw at least twice week in concourse area and never once seen a person walk around booking anyone! and thats over 1year!!! i think its got about 3 years left on contract, only glangwilli in carmarthen still charges like uhw again because of very long contracts
pay up is best saves a lot of hazzle and stress after all its only £12:?

I've been told they have got no legal right to issue parking tickets,my wife and daugher work there and we get letters almost daily, they've ignored them for years, and their union is more than happy to fight the case if they pursue it any further. Hooray for the union.

Speak to someone who work there (and you can trust) as I was once told by a member of staff that the 'issuers' learned which cars were staff and which were not, as the employees simply didn't respond to any tickets and/or follow up warnings because they knew tickets were unenforceable
However, I don't believe this is totally the same as the Asda parking situation and it was about 3 years ago that I was told the above

Surely if the laws have changed then car park contracts shouldn't have to be continued surely..?
