A forum for all things Cardiff City

Been a while since my last post, but I'm in a bit of a pickle and need a bit of advice. I have been playing football since I was very young, always thought I was really good. But recently now I'm just lacking the motivation completely and playing no where near the level I know I can! It's like playing football has become a bit of a chore now, rather than an enjoyment which it really should be. I play 5 a side twice a week and 11 a side on a Saturday as well as training in the week. Recently though I haven't been playing well at all and I feel fed up. What can I do? Do I need to take a break or something so then I can get back into it and start enjoying it again? Any help would be much appreciated! Cheers fellas!

Get laid and then try in goals.

Pre season came at the right time then. Take a break, get back to training in July and go again next season. Happened to me once when I was 15, thought about quitting when I lost my place in the team and couldn't get back in. I just worked in pre season training and got my position back and had my best season to date for u16s. 2 years later I'm enjoying it more than ever

Why not take words from sportsmen before you rather than people on a forum...
"Winning isn't everything, Wanting to win is"
Vince Lombardi
"Don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should have accomplished with your ability."
John Wooden
And possibly the greatest words of wisdom when it comes to this game you seem to be falling out of love with...
"Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I'm very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that."
Bill Shankley.

Now that it's the summer - have a break and see how you feel then...If you're young your fitness won't suffer too much..But I think it's like everything in life, you'll get times when you feel fed up and caught in a rut but stay with it and you should be fine. That's life though, you get ups and downs and indifference, whether it be relationships, job, hobbies and just about everything else!! Keep at it though!!

Take a look at your lifestyle, you need to ask yourself what do you really want from it.
I lost my motivation after 25 contemplated coming back this season at 27 but my ambition doesn't match my motives I know I missed my chances playing welsh league or better. also one big injury away from losing my pace.
It really depends on how good you are how much potential you have how old you are,
I would take a break find a passion you have a desire for one that will make you money or start you a career and focus on that

Watch city relegated to the dungeon.... then you will find a reason to dig those boots out again.
I missed about 10 season through playing again.....but i realised if you pay to play you must have a laugh, so I dropped down to the old boys or thirds and lived like a poor mans Robin Friday...
