OGS tailor made for championship?

Wed May 21, 2014 2:30 pm

We're heading for the top 6 you would expect - Im not sure he possesses that killer instinct effect on the players but the quality in this team and the drop in class opposition should work in OGS favour

scoring goals we will be good at doing that wont be an issue in the championship, we haven't got dzjeko, hazard and world class players banging in goals from all over the pitch.

The man utd way is to get forward and attack dominate games and dominate teams. you cant do that when your cardiff city in the premier league, but you can do that when your cardiff city in the championship.

I'm backing us to be a dominant force at home and away from home better than we have been the last 2 seasons

Hope so,I thought when he come in he'd get us playing gd football and winning matches, as he's admitted he didn't have the impact he hoped for so I expect a few players to go and few younger players to come in and expect us to play with a lot more intensity and pressure teams up the pitch.

Very gd post mate and def agree in the championship he will find his feet rossler at Wigan perfect example

Ole took roslers job at Molde and totally transformed them. So hopefully we are in good hands. I believe he just needs time

I have serious doubts about Ole, but I hope you are right and I am wrong, it should certainly suit his previous experience managerial fingers crossed....

Clueless. Never in the relegation zone before Ole came in, into the relegation zone sliding to the bottom of the table after Ole came in. The reason we competed the first half of last season was because we were a team, we were an organised unit who competed. We would have never have been able to pick up results against the Man City's and Man Utd's under Ole. Since Ole has come in, our team has been a disorganised mess. Constant team changes with a mixture of Malky's players, Ole's players and Norwegian players, leading to our players not knowing and understanding one another led to some humiliating 3-0 and 4-0 defeats, we were so open it was unreal. Wrong characters like Zaha and Jones were brought in and opposing teams went from coming to the CCS expecting a battle to coming to the CCS knowing we were there for the taking.

Next season, we will have a more talented squad of players than the squad that got us promoted. But does that make us a better squad? I believe we now have better footballers, more talented footballers like Daehli and Guerra, and Ole must take credit for bringing those players in. However, despite us having on paper, what looks like a better squad talent wise, the second half of last season shows our squad currently lacks the guts, fight, togetherness, spirit, passion, organisation and battling qualities needed to handle the Saturday/Tuesday/Saturday/Tuesday fixtures, particularly over the tough winter period. Under Ole, I will never believe we can go to Brentford on a cold winter Tuesday night and be able to grind out a 1-0 win if we don't play well. If we don't play well in these types of games, we will lose and probably even get some hidings.

It's impossible to peak all the time and when we're not at our best, I simply don't see Ole's team being able to grind out results. If you compare us to the Newcastle side who won the Championship, they had players like Steven Taylor, Joey Barton, Alan Smith, Kevin Nolan. Leaders, players with character, players who you know would never get out battled on a cold winter Tuesday night, players who you knew would give their all, fight till the death and never let you down. We don't currently have this and we will never have this under Ole and therefore, we will never succeed under Ole.

I think he is. The championship is a lot more forgiving. A place where you can learn your trade as a manager, and not be so worried about making a few mistakes Along the way, because your only a few wins and one good run away from challenging the top. Ole for me seems to be the type that will learn fast, given the right backing, so he can build his own team that fits his mentality. Ones he gets on a good run... 3-4 game winning run, he will grow in confidence and go from strength to strength in my opinion. He never had that chance in the prem league.

I'm not clueless.

Your obviously a malky bum boy.

We would of been in the bottom three with or with out malky.

What was his record in his last 20 games in charge?

If we were such a well drilled team why did I have to watch Southampton piss all over us easily on Boxing Day in the rain at home?

Do newly promoted teams often start well in there first season in the premier league and cause a few upsets?

We were shit with malky and with out him. He's gone forever take the summer to fix your broken heart you'll meet another man one day.

Ogs strikes me as an idealist and at times he seemed naive.
However I don't buy that he is clueless everything I have read about him suggests he is an intelligent man and was able to Implement his philosophy at previous clubs.
Be interesting to see who he brings in because it's obvious he needs to reinvent the squad in order to get them playing his way. He inherited a squad from a manager with a totally different philosophy, a squad that lacks pace and technical ability something he values really high, I don't think he doesn't understand the need for grit and leadership though , he has said the player he would always pick first out of his former team mates at Manu would be Roy keane.

Tailer made for the championship? Why give him the job when you were in the Prem then?

If you lot think you're just going to slide back into top 6 contention without any hard graft then next season is going to be one hell of a Shock for you lot.

There are going to be some strong teams in the division next year and they aren't going to just move out of the way for you.

I don't know why you think Gollum is going to master stroke a promotion when it's quite clear that he's out of his depth. He can't pick a team and you've gone from an organised unit to a complete shambles.

Top half finish would be good for you.

The fact all you can bring up is the Southampton game when the damage was already done by Tan says it all. The Newcastle first half was our only other poor home performance but we still went at them in the second half and we had them hanging on for dear life at the end.

The rest of your post shows the lack of intelligence and debating skills you have. You're yet another one of the "I can't debate back logically so I will throw childish insults" brigade.

What makes you think you will dominate? What has gollum done that demonstrates that he is a competent and tactically savvy manager?

He didn't know his best team, couldn't organise the defence, and you had no clear identifiable style.

You weren't playing open free flowing attacking football under ole last season. You scored a few more goals because you weren't so defensively minded but that was at the expense of conceding a shedload.

Enjoyed watching us beat Man City, Swansea, West Brom and Fulham plus pick up draws against Man Utd and Everton. But more importantly, I enjoyed us competing and staying above the relegation zone. But clueless Tan manipulated clueless fans into not being satisfied and when a hard earned 0-0 draw away to Stoke was "too boring", the clueless got their wish and now have their "more exciting" football, watching us getting humiliated home to Hull and Crystal Palace plus humiliated away to Sunderland and worst of all, Swansea! But you got your wish and now have your more "entertaining" football...back in the Championship!
