Craig Bellamy linked with shock management move to Switzerland
Wednesday May 21, 2014

By Gareth Rogers

The man who fulfilled his dream by playing for Cardiff City in the Premier League has been linked to a move to Switzerland

Craig Bellamy is being strongly linked with a shock move to Swiss club Servette, who want the Welsh legend as part of a management team involving ex Cardiff City star Kevin Cooper.

Reports surrounding the pair emerged in the Swiss media this morning. A third Cardiff connection involves Julian Jenkins, who is leaving the Bluebirds to become general manager at Sevette.

The Swiss club's president Hugh Quennec confirmed his interest in the two.

But although he seems set to land Copper, currently in charge of the under 21 development side at Cardiff, Quennec is less confident about bringing Bellamy on board as part of what he sees as a new management dream team.

Quennec said Bellamy wishes to continue playing and has received offers from a number of different countries.

“He wants to continue his playing career and has received offers from North America, Spain and England,” Quennec is quoted as saying.

But of the former winger, who is development team coach at the Cardiff City Stadium, Quennec said: “Kevin Cooper is the ideal man for the future of Servette.

“He is perfectly suited to your youth project having worked with the youngsters at Cardiff."

Think Coopers done a great job with the development side. Will be a big miss for Cardiff. I thought he had the potential to 1 day take the 1st team job. As for Bellamy  dont let the door hit you on the way out

Get rid of the no neck runt, wages off the wage bill and he'll be someone else's problem.

Interesting to see what direction we'll go if Cooper leaves, wonder who Ole will bring in :ayatollah:

The club should release Bellamy now

I have been disapointed with him, He has had about 10 good games in the last 2 seasons, His attitude is also questionable with his outburst after the Norwich game but also the rumour that he missed the Stoke game to take his daughter to disney

time to let him go and give Kadeem Harris a chance

have a feeling he will leave, and his parting shot will be a giant rant about our fans.......

Bellers relationship with us is like getting together with an old girlfriend after breaking up, never as good second time round and you cannot wait for it to come to an end. He's been garbage and expensive for two years.

Swiss side Servette FC eye up swoop for Cardiff's Craig Bellamy

CRAIG BELLAMY is being linked with a move to Switzerland.

The former Wales international is being targeted by Servette FC as they look to pair the 34-year-old in a coaching team with Kevin Cooper, himself a former Cardiff player.

Valencia, meanwhile, have made the first move in the battle to land Cardiff midfielder Gary Medel, 26, who has a release clause in his contract and is expected to leave
