The Future

Wed May 21, 2014 9:54 am

I can't believe how suddenly fans are now stating "I hope Tan goes."

What is the alternative? So the likes of some MB "holier than thous" can sit in front of a keyboard and feel good about themselves? We will play in front of an 80% empty stadium ...thats if we have a club at all.

Of course we have to listen to the self righteous claim "ah, it'll never come to that, we will be OK." you know and I know that if we had a great run last season the rebrand would be rarely discussed. Just like when we strolled the Championship. Once we knew we were headed for relegation everyone jumped on the band wagon. A coincidence? I dont think so.

We also have long term fans stating "no more" until we return to blue. It wasnt a problem when getting their ST for the premiership.....who's the plastic exactly? Im not pro red, Im pro club.Whether it be Dewey, Terlezki, Clemo, SH or Tan.

I hope we don't read shite here next season.... i.e. only 15k for so and so game. You have been actively campaigning against our club for months. Don't moan about it when people take notice.

I still put a lot of it down to some so called leaders jockeying for a position with the board.

If you love the club then you should want to protect its heritage not assist in the destruction of it by paying Tan for the privilege. Bit of a contradiction there.

What you state may mean you love the team, but the club and team are vastly differing things. The team will come and go - the club should always come first.

I think there are people who seem to think that if Tan goes, we'll just find ourselves in League 2 and build ourselves up again. What's more likely is that if Tan gets forced out, our club will eventually cease to exist. So I'd ask those fans, which would you rather: Tan with red shirts, or no Tan with no club at all? 'Cos the latter is much more likely than this fairy tale story people seem to be buying into, where we vanquish the evil king and everyone lives happily ever after.

Tan has made mistakes, but I struggle to work out how anyone can look at how this man works and think that embarrassing him is the way to get him on our side. If anything, it's made him even more stubborn.

You have to be careful mate, common sense is wasted here a lot of the time.

I believe you point of view is shared by the majority. Not by a few mb keyboard warriors. (Their words not mine)

In what possible way could the club go bust. Im sure people just dont understand.

The club owes all the money to him, so he can sell everything in his own power.... After that what would be the point in closing it after he bled it dry? Not one benefit at all in it and he wouldnt be able to then sell his shares. Hence why it wont happen.

The club would be debt free but would also have nothing.

A far better prospect than the future under Tan. Its a no brainer hence why I frown at the pussy footing tactics deployed thus far.

some of us have been saying it for ages. Maybe some are just now seeing the light.

What is the alternative? So the likes of some MB "holier than thous" can sit in front of a keyboard and feel good about themselves? We will play in front of an 80% empty stadium ...thats if we have a club at all.

Well the alternative would be to have a new owner. Why would we play in front only 6,000 people?

Of course we have to listen to the self righteous claim "ah, it'll never come to that, we will be OK." you know and I know that if we had a great run last season the rebrand would be rarely discussed. the thing is, in my opinion, we would be okay. We wouldn't have the extravagant spending of the previous years, but we would be in the true spirit and identity of Cardiff City.

Plus, do you really think the rebrand wasn't discussed last season? What a ridiculous notion!

maybe they've just had enough? They've tolerated so much of VTs lies, excuses and rebrand and. Is it's time to say enough is enough?

what a strange notion. I put it done to them wanting to see this club in its rightful colours & not be ploughed deeper into debt by the owner.

Bollox, and they'd be lined up outside the ground for ST's if we stayed up.

I See, so you've avoided all of my points and just made a massive assumption instead.

Re: The Future

Wed May 21, 2014 11:51 am

I was a fan who tolerated the rebrand purely because of the possibility Cardiff would become debt free and that if we didnt accept the rebrand we would cease to exist. However in the first season of the rebrand (Championship) I did not purchase and still continue not to purchase any items from the club (excluding my season ticket). It was around the half way mark of the championship season I realised the rebrand wasnt worth it due to all the bickering amongst fans.

Two years on and Cardiff are now in treble the debt we were in when the rebrand happened with no sign of the debt to equity that was promised. We have also been made too look a right bunch of mugs on the world stage.

Now I'm not calling for Tan to leave, I'm caling for him to turn us back to our rightfull colours (if this means Tan going then so be it). I would much rather 1000 fans who stick together on a saturday in the lower leagues than a divided club run by an owner who doesnt respect fans opinions and who, at this present in moment in time has lied to us about the debt to equity.

I just hate it when other fans and even some of our own accuse people like myself of selling our sole for the premier league when that wasnt the case for the majority fans.

The thing is though he makes valid points and strongly believes in what he's saying, why can't you accept it's his opinion ?

I want Tan gone, I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees as the saying goes. This football club under Tan is not the Cardiff City we all grew up following it's become one mans, ego driven, failing business. I won't let him drive me out, hence why I still attend games, it was our club before he came and it will be ours when he leaves, no matter what state we will be left in.

Not particularly mate, it's a strange situation, I love Cardiff City it's in my blood and every game I go to (Season Ticket holder and 75% of away games) I sing my heart out and want my team to do well, but the pride and buzz has gone missing. There's been moments over the past two years when I really thought I couldn't stomach it any more but I just can't pack it in. At this current moment in time, despite being relegated, a little bit of faith has been restored because the little bit of unity between the fans has returned.

It's frustrating because if Tan was to return us to blue and hold his hands up, then we could all move forward and get the club back on track. Right now it just feels like one big battle. :bluescarf: :bluescarf:
