As well as that he was probably taking care not to 'over snob' the amount, if he said 'the wife spends £500 a week in Harrods food hall' is would be an even bigger scandal.

Agreed. End of the day whether I vote for him or not is not gonna be reliant on him knowing the cost of his weekly shop.

Surely through lads its not about a working man knowing the cost of food its more of a case that if you bang on about a subject for months/years you should do your homework on the subject is it not..?
