International Football

International football is woeful. Players use it as an excuse to want a move. Don't even get me started on the fans.

So many so called Welsh fans become Englishmen during the World Cup.

I hope Argentina win the world cup. If only to start the morons off about "Bloody Argies, Falklands are British" again.

Very uneducated post, regarding Falklands!

I love international football, makes a change from supporting City which is well needed this year. The thing I like more is how it has a more summery relaxed feel about it, just a chance to watch some good football.

Wouldn't support England mind you, Brazil all the way

Why? It's true. Look through past posts, I'd guarantee some moan about the Argentinian team and bring the Falklands into it. It's hilarious.

I have never in my entire life supported England in anything, when it comes to the world cup I'm always on Germany side also you're an idiot

agree about internationals, the world cup is special though.

Normal international football is poor, but not the World Cup.

I agree with you on the last point though, I have found it strange why anyone would support another nation in the World Cup, let alone England.

I don't mind world cups, euro cups. Can't stand friendlies though. I don't see any point in them. Maybe have international friendly tournaments in the summer for the teams that don't qualify for the worldcup, but to have them during the season grates on me. As for Argentina, the argie goverment only seem to make a fuss about the Falklands when there country is in the shit. they use it as a smokescreen to hide the fact there government are a bunch of incompident fools. They were the ones who wanted to fight for the right to own the Falklands... They lost, Britain won. End of. If they would have gone down the diplomatic route in 1982, instead of starting a war to take the argintinan peoples minds of there utter shit government destroying their economy, then they might have had a chance of at least sharing the Falklands with us. Argentina use the Falklands as a political tool. They have no Claim to the falklands , they never have. And Argentina no that, as does the rest of the world

The Argentinian military junta invaded the Falklands because they were under pressure at home. Oldest trick in the book, create a diversion. When they lost the war, the junta fell.

Back to the football. Always enjoy watching Wales, even in friendlies. Supporting England in the World Cup. We play in their league, and its great following CCFC away there. England are our neighbours, simple as that.

Each to their own, though. Just hope it's a good tournament. :bluescarf:

I am a so called welsh fan, and proud to say I rarely miss a match home and do my best to travel away.

But I do still support England when they are playing non British countries? why not ?

England is our closest country, we are linked in so many ways.
Many Welsh people have English relatives! and most South Walians will trace their families back to the West Country in just a few generations, when they came to work in the mines or docks.

You don't have to support anyone, but if you do what is the alternative ? ......somewhere that you will never visit ? or a country that will do very well in the World Cup ? That would say a lot.

If I shout for anyone in the World Cup it would be because they play good football.

My dislike of the English International Football team has grown over many years. Probably because of their moronic fans, an unjustified superiority complex (The Germans know they are the master race) and their shite brand of football.

100% Llangainbluebird and Barry Boy are you both :old: like me.

I was beginning to despair of the short sightedness of some of our posters - Whats with all this Anti- English stuff?

Yes, if Wales play England - Fair enough, Wales all the way.

PROUD TO BE BRITISH :notworthy:

when I was a kid in the 80's all my mates supported England in the World Cop and Euro because we knew Wales had zero chance of qualifying and we wanted to support a team!

But, in the rugby we hated them lol

The World Cup in South Africa was poor. In fact most of it was absolute shite.

As a strategist I love int'l football. Because the players in international sides get very limited time to drill together, the X factor relies more on the manager than anyone else. Of course, it's not so fun with a defensive manager (I can attest to that, with the previous managers here in Norway) but when you get someone in charge that can make the team exciting to watch (current Norwegian manager Høgmo f. ex.) it is more thrilling than watching completely drilled club teams where it's more about getting very few chances and being blocked/ shut down 90% of the time.
