Gary Medel is off to Besiktas and Marshall may be off to Arsenal or Leicester. One thing is for certain is that they are in the race for Steven Caulker.
Premier League side Southampton are ready to trigger the release clause of Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker according to The Sun.
The 22-year old impressed many in his first season at the ‘Bluebirds’ but it was not enough as he saw the club get relegated at the end of the season. He joined the club in July 2013 for a club record fee of £8 million.
Since joining the club he managed to play every league match and managed to score five goals as well. His impressive debut season in the Premier League has been noted by many top clubs.
' Southampton are ready to trigger Steven Caulker’s release clause '
It now seems that Southampton are ready to join Liverpool in the race for the England international’s signature and are preparing to make the first move by triggering the relegation release clause in his contract that would make him available for around the £5 million mark.
Caulker could be a replacement for Dejan Lovren who has recently been linked with a move to Liverpool.
It is also believed that Southampton are interested in two more Cardiff players – Gary Medel and David Marshall.
Marshall is seen as in ideal replacement for the ageing ‘holy goalie’ Artur Boruc whilst they see Gary Medel as a strong central midfielder who could possibly be Adam Lallana’s replacement in a formation reshuffle.
Despite this though it seems Medel is off to Besiktas and Marshall may be off to Arsenal or Leicester. One thing is for certain is that they are in the race for Steven Caulker.

3 way tug of war or not, with a release clause each team offer 5.mil and it has to be accepted (as that is the clause) the tug of war starts with the wage negotiations. One team offer say 50k per week, the other 55k per week, the other team offer 75k in order to seal the deal. Use your loaf because it doesn't mean any more money for city.

If you use your loaf you will realise that this so called clause has not officially been confirmed as £5m. Don't believe everything you read. Some of it is just fiction.
As I've said already do you honestly think a player signed for £8m and obviously worth a lot more, will have a clause to sell him for less than we paid.
