You can still take it back and demand they repair it.The warranty running out doesn't affect your rights. For a tv to last only 13 months is not a "reasonable amount of time", which is what the sale of goods act states. They will probably try to palm you off but they will have to repair it.Take it to to the manager if you get no luck from customer service.Do a bit of research on " the sale of goods act" and you should get it sorted all be it with a bit of hassle.

If you mean the the 12 month warranty has ran out, it hasn't, because under eu law, every electrical item has a 2 year warranty, take it back and if they try and fob you off point out the eu law

If it's a Samsung don't even bother to phone their customer service dept - you will get nowt but hassle and a headache and then still get nowt - worst customer service I have ever know (speaking from experience like yours a few years back) - hence would never touch ANY Samsung product ever again.

Yes under your statutory rights you expect a new TV to last longer than13 months. Look under statutory rights then fit for purpose. And if they fob you off just state it is illegal to deny or to give you wrongful advice on your statutory rights of which it is. As said before look it up on google it will explain it all.
