Absolute carnage. Academy closed, 400 staff sacked, losing over a million a month (similar to you folks).

A view of things to come if you dont fight for your club with a bit more passion than shown so far.

Ill probably get stick for that but its the reality of it.

As annoying as the majority of Leeds fans I've met over the years have been I would never wish financial meltdown on any fellow club. I hope they pull through this. I mean, I don't know about anyone else, but there's six points we'd miss next season!

Been in this situation before. Think they would have learned their lessons. Hope they get sorted out, but I wouldn't mind seeing them drop a division or two first

Learned lessons? Over the last 5-7 years they have run their club pretty much in the same way as Cardiff have who have also refused to learn.

Both losing over a million a month (id say cardiff are losing more than leeds) - the only difference? One has an owner still semi-happy to cover the shortfall. Id say Leeds are Cardiff 12 months in the future if you dont go straight back up.

Stick to your own clubs finances, the prem league money has saved you, 8 million loss in in the year you were promoted so don't give.me the well run club routine Muppet

This year was not good. Payed to much on signing and wages, agent fees and bonuses. What do you know about next years budget to make a statement of not learning? Reading today's echo, Tuckers still didn't learn anything about football in our year in top flight, but that is a different matter.

It's almost impossible to to understand the vast expenditure of football clubs these days. A mid table Championship club like Leeds are spending £100,000 a day :o

:laughing6: wez do some research pal.

We would have made a profit that year if we lost the play off final against Reading. We made a loss due to contractual triggers as a result of promotion (promotion bonuses and promotion clauses to chelsea for the likes of Sinclair) etc etc.

This is of course paid from Premier League money which is also guaranteed as a result.

So no, the premier league money didnt save us "muppet" :laughing6:

Im not talking about next year, im talking about every year lessons failed to be learned for the past decade. Or are you telling me it only went wrong this year?

Next year im sure will be equally as horrendous but im certainly not counting that in my point.

It is what would have happened if we had drove VT away in May 2012.

I dont think anyone was suggesting you do that in May.

When the rebrand came about is when you should have driven him away

May 2012 is when the rebrand happened. Keep up at the back!

Which is exactly my point, if we had done so we would have ended like Leeds and probably far worse.

Ah well then yes maybe this would have happened.

A major slashing of expenditure. Just what you needed and still do.

I don't disagree though if VT is prepared to invest and help grow the club then I can accept that. Notice Chelsea didn't fail FFP this year? Proof of what can be done with investment, they are becoming a naturally big club.

Re: Leeds United in financial meltdown

Fri May 16, 2014 11:39 am

Why would chelsea fail FFP? They spent about £30m net in transfers. About 13% of income.

Thats a pittance.

Sadly I agree with you, only a few things and even if it Leeds were talking about it's not worth trying to deny we (Cardiff) could ever go down the same route.
