It's actually "their", you retard. If you're going to be insulting, at least pretend you've had a minimum of education.

You can not have a minimum of education, you can have a minimum standard of education. Please be correct if you're going to patronise.

Minimum - the least or smallest amount possible. Of course you can have a minimum of education.
Good old Chuckles - completely wrong as always

Completely incorrect! You can not have a minimum of education, it is not measured in quantity but quality, hence a minimum standard or level is correct.

We are not discussing the minimum education for a profession you imbecile! Of course their are Minimum requirements for entrance to professional occupations, yet hey refer to minimum educational achievements, that was not the point you were trying to make.
Most people refer to the standard of education they received, which is a qualitative measurement not quantitative.
I doubt you understand the difference!

Ok, so let's assume a hypothetical situation where someone attended school for just one day and never went back. They achieved no qualifications whatsoever. You could not measure their education on a qualitative basis or on the basis of standard reached. It would be incorrect to say they had no education as that is clearly not the case. They would, however, have received a minimum of education. Which was what I was referring to in my original post. Understand now?
Thu May 15, 2014 8:44 pm
Totally irrelevant that one day could have been worth more than five days in a different school therefore it's not the minimum it is about quality not quantity.
Give up you are out of your depth!

So now you are suggesting that five days is a qualitative measure of education? You're talking rubbish. Surely you must realise that the comparative measures you are using ( one day or five days ) is a quantative measure, not a qualitative one. So now you are agreeing with me!
I think it's you that are out of your depth

You have completely missed the the point of my post. You used the example of a child who had received just one day of education. A completely ridiculous example by the way. I was simply illustrating that one day of quality education is better than five days of mediocre education, hence quality is more important than quantity.
Please read my posts more carefully.

You are tying yourself up in knots, now. An earlier post says education "is not measured in quantity but quality" therefore you can have no minimum of education. Now you are saying that "quality is more important than quantity" so clearly you are now agreeing with me that you can have a quantity of education, but you have changed your argument to claim that quality is more important.
Thu May 15, 2014 9:17 pm
How am I agreeing with you? A minimum suggest a quantifiable amount that can be achieved as the lowest level of some measurement.
I have stated from the beginning that it is the minimum standard of education that is important which is about the level of a learners' experience, which is a qualitative measurement, what do you not understand about the quality of education as opposed the amount of education you receive?

Previous posts:
"You cannot have a minimum of education, it is not measured in quantity but quality"
"Quality is more important than quantity"
These statements are contradictory. The first claims that you cannot measure education in quantity. The second states that you can measure education in quantity, but quality is more important. If education cannot be measured in quantity, then quality cannot be more important than it.
So which of the two statements is incorrect. If the second statement is correct, then you are agreeing with me that education can be measured by quantity.
Your argument appears to have hit the rails, I'm afraid

PremierJacks.... Mocking someone for incorrect English. Then using incorrect English in his mocking...
Laughable.

Thank you for that nugget of wisdom, Wayne. I am more than willing to own up to making a mistake, however, if you took the time to actually read the thread, I'm sure that you will agree that in this particular instance, my comments are correct

How stupid are you? I have stated that the quality of education is more important from the start of this thread.
You said in a most patronising manner the a poster had not received the minimum of education, what does that mean?
He had not been to school for one day?
The correct phrase was the poster had not received a minimum standard of education to post coherently. Suggesting that the quality of the education he had received was not of the required standard.
It is pointless arguing with someone who does understand the difference between quantity and quality.
Somebody could turn up for school everyday from the age of five to sixteen but if they do not learn anything during this period it is not the quantity of education that has failed them but the quality.
So evident in your posts.

You are a bigger fool chuckles dear of course you could have a minimum of education . You know what I mean Alex, just like you generally have a minimum of truth in most of your pendantic replies. (Must something common to grasses)
