Malky Mackay in talks to become new Norwich manager after dropping claims for compensation against Cardiff
By LAURIE WHITWELL

14th May 2014

Malky Mackay was edging closer to being appointed the next Norwich City manager on Wednesday night, with the former Cardiff City boss said to be in negotiations with chief executive David McNally.

Mackay, 42, dropped his claims for compensation against Cardiff last week, and the Scot has long been regarded highly at Carrow Road, where he played more than 200 games between 1998 and 2004.

He had been in litigation with Cardiff over his sacking last December but last week apologised ‘without reservation’ to owner Vincent Tan.

Least surprising managerial choice ever.

Wonder if they'll play first half at Cardiff football or second half at Cardiff defenceball

Hes got some good players there, i think Hooper will score a few goals and their midfield (should they hold on to them all) are all very good.

I wonder if he will come in for Smith/Cowie.

Hooper will score 8. Defenders will score 6 or so from set pieces and midfielders will get a few.

Norwich might bore the pants off everyone getting promotion.

Bad luck to him if he gets it. Norwich are going to be our rivals next season for promotion. I certainly don't want him to have success at the expense of us.

Good luck to Malky. He "did the business" for us on the pitch, despite SOME people forgetting so conveniently :thumbright:

Time to be more concerned about the present and future, rather than the past!

Did he :? I don't call sticking 11 men behind the ball and nicking a set piece doing the business. We were 17th heading for the bottom, that my friend is not doing the business. :thumbright:

mores the point this bloke was taking our club to court in an attempt to get millions for being unfairly dismissed......then drops it throws in a grovelling apology..........people are so obsessed with their hate of Tan they want to see it as him taking Tan to court as opposed to the club.......

Good luck to him for any future job but I hope he doesn't fill Norwich's expectations for next season.

Be interesting what budget he gets and without the help of Iain Moody.

Don't be silly now, fella. We didn't get to the Premier League (albeit briefly) without input from the guy ;)

His 'style' of doing so (as negative as it could be) sort of justified the end

i could just about go along with the end justified the means Sven............but he then gets a huge budget, spends very poorly, and tries to play Malkyball in the EPL.............his actions of late leave more than a sour taste in my mouth.........quite possibly the worse human being to be at the club in my 40 odd years........peole go on about sam,the riddler, tan,,,,,,this fella tried to con the club.........unfair dismissal?..well if it had been ,he would be millions better off,and been able to v sign Tan.........

oh my goodness, i'm no "malky lover" but that is a ridiculous statement. Each to their own opinion and all but seriously when the dust has settled i think you may look back and realise you are way off the mark with that statement
