I would of liked to have kept Fraizer Campbell and if he is sold for £800,000 theyve got a bargain in my opinion, he is at his best at this moment in time, Quality for the Championship.

Cardiff’s Frazier Campbell catches Hull City’s eye
BY BENJAMIN WILLS ⋅ MAY 14, 2014 ⋅
Cardiff striker Frazier Campbell is on Hull City’s periphery.
The FA Cup finalists are looking to add another striker to their books to provide competition to Shane Long, Yannick Sagbo and Nikicia Jelavic with Matty Fryatt possibly leaving in the Summer.
Campbell is reportedly able for around £800,000 and would be keen for a return to the KC Stadium.
During his last stay in Humberside, Campbell netted 15 goals in 34 games when Hull City were a Championship side in the 2007/08 season.
The former Manchester United forward scored 13 in 48 this campaign, including a brace, one of them the winner, in the Bluebirds’ 3-2 home win over eventual Champions Manchester City.
Cardiff man Campbell has also spent time at Tottenham and Sunderland, as well as a brief loan spell at Belgian side Royal Antwerp.

Treble it at least

If there is an 800k release clause Moody/Malky need shooting. Could get atleast 3m for him otherwise.

On that point I totally agree

He's something short of being a very good player his work rate is spot on but that alone isn't good enough
Wed May 14, 2014 8:47 pm
I would sell him, only really had one good goal-scoring season

Agreed, but remember Malky picked him up for a bargain £500k in the first place!

Obviously quality in the division we are in, would def get goals and has a solid work rate. But I'm not sure Ole wants him in his "system", he's given him much praise even the two times (fa cup) he scored winners.

£800,000 Cambell, £ 3 m Grabban
Wed May 14, 2014 9:08 pm
I wouldn't mind him going as long as we get a decent goal scoring Striker, but that is a terrible price, shocking .....
Wed May 14, 2014 9:09 pm
Campbell would be fine for next season. The fact we seem to be moving so quickly for Grabben suggests that Campbell may well be on the way out.... 800k is absolutely criminal though.
Wed May 14, 2014 9:12 pm
Maybe he's asked to leave? some players like to go back nearer their family/roots
Wed May 14, 2014 9:21 pm
I would have liked to keep him, with his pace he would have been awesome in the championship! Agree with Annis Bargain price

Is Campbell on £25k a week or is it more?
25k a week = £1.3m a year. Just to factor this into the equation.
I love Frazer Campbell's attitude and I would be happy to keep him. But ultimately I don't believe he was comfortable at Premier League level with us this year. Though in his defence, he started well and was perhaps over played. Campbell best suits a system that plays two up top. He is not really in the lone striker mould which limits his playability for us under Ole.
Don't know anything about Grabban. On paper it would seem he is on the assent career wise.

i wouldnt bother factoring in wages on players who would play and , in theory at least, do well for us.
If he is on 25k a week its a lot, and i cant imagine Grabben will be paid much for than 15k. but still. 25k a week is a price worth paying for someone who can score the goals.

Perhaps he wouldn't have signed for us in the first place without the £800k release clause. Gives the player the power to negotiate higher wages when he moves and we had him for a bargain price in the first place. Good business for all parties concerned.

No way he will go to hull

Agree

And an escape clause of £800k would have been reasonable when we signed him in case we didn't get promoted. He should have been offered a new contract in the past 12 months but maybe he was and he just wanted too much money so we couldn't do anything about it.

When we signed Fraizer he scored 7 goals in 12 games, you can see he's a class act in the championship

which is exactly who a clause of 800k wasnt going to be enough, im surprised it was set that low.
Thu May 15, 2014 8:24 am
i still think we could keep hold of him, obviously time will tell. Hope we keep him,.
if he does go though, the likes of Maynard and Mason to come back into the team along with the potential of the new strikers i think we have a good force going forward
Thu May 15, 2014 8:34 am
I hope we keep hold of Campbell. I loved him when he first came here, but in the premier league, he struggled. I would love to see him here for us next season
Thu May 15, 2014 9:41 am
I think that because he got that clause into HIS contract, he's showed no loyalty to OUR club, therefore he is being 'got rid of'

i dont.......i honestly think he is Malkys best signing........this boy had been with Man Utd, loaned to Spurs, and was on a lucrative contract at Sunderland.....which he could have sat on and bided his time......Sunderland just wanted to reduce their wage bill, the boy probably wanted prem football...........so i think MM did really well to persuade him Cardiff was for him.....we paid so little for him and after all it was us chasing him .he did have other options.. we { MM} were not in a position to say no to a low release clause, it was his insurance that if things went wrong..which they have.. he could move on easily...
he has given nothing less than 100% while here ...great signing...............shame we didnt have more of these......

Campbell works hard, but he is absolutely shit as a player, nowhere near a bargain.

i dont agree....i think he will end up in the prem and any club playing in the prem who gets a player for 800k has got a bargain........

I would cash in on 4 million or more..
