Norwich and Cardiff set to move for Adam Clayton
BY SAM ROURKE ⋅ MAY 14, 2014 ⋅

ADAM CLAYTON, CARDIFF, HUDDERSFIELD, NORWICH

Norwich City and Cardiff City are both targeting a move for Huddersfield Town midfielder Adam Clayton, according to the Examiner.

Clayton won the Huddersfield Town player of the year award, and the 25-year-old has one-year left on his current contract at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The former Leeds midfielder was the subject of a £1 million bid from Brighton in January, however the bid was swiftly rejected.

Clayton has amassed 94 appearances for the Terriers, and has scored 12 goals during his time at the club.

Cardiff and Norwich have just been recently relegated so are on the look out for players with distinct Championship pedigree, and Clayton would fit the bill.

Just the type of player we are missing. Would compliment Whitts very well. Similair to Gunnarson but a better passer of the ball.

Agreed 100%. Tough tackler but very good technically. Scores some cracking goals and all.

Good to see we are looking at Medel's replacement.

Clayton, Gunnar
Whitts, Eikrem
Mutch, Berget

Good options for a three man midfield.

Should be (if we sign Clayton) IMO:-

--------Mutch---------
Whitts/Eikrem-----Clayton

Ideal replacement for Medel and some of the lightweights in our midfield.Does benefit us too that he's in his last year of his contract as it'll be easier to buy him out or offer him more generous terms :ayatollah:

He's defiantly got the edge and I think we'll be going up with or without him.

Solskaer also said to be lining up a new wideman, but still hasn't found what he's looking for! :bluescarf:

An area that seriously needs strengthening. In Dæhli and No one we have two of the league's best beyond hat it's Kim, who is a decent squad player. Then it's Harris, serious depth issues there.

Cowie and Bellamy probably leaving. You can see why maybe he wants Bellamy to stay, although Bellamy as a winger in a 442 would be a disaster.

I rather see Daehli as no 10. Mutch is not as creative and technically skilled, a good No 10 needs great technical ability and vision.
Mutch is a good from a central position though.

Totally, a good defensive midfielder is top priority.

I heard he has vertigo but could prove to be the one.
New years day would be a beautiful day if we signed him then.it would fill me with pride.
The sweetest thing would be watching him bullet the blue sky while running to stand still causing an unforgettable fire on sunday bloody sunday
