I reckon Ross McCormack would be perfect for us next season,if the price was right.
' Transfer Rumours '
Wednesday 14th May 2014.
Derby County and Cardiff City want Leeds United striker, Queens Park rangers chase Getafe midfielder, Sheffield Wednesday look to bring back Wolverhampton Wanderers defender and Huddersfield Town midfielder gets targeted.
As the countdown to the summer transfer window opening begins, we take a look at the top five transfer rumours that have caught our attention this week.
Transfer story of the week:
According to the Daily Mail, Cardiff City and Derby County are amongst those in the race to sign Leeds United striker Ross McCormack this summer.
Leeds United rejected various offers in the region of £6 million in the January transfer window and according to the report could demand a figure of around £10 million.
Derby are reportedly said to only be interested if they win promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
Queens Park Rangers after £3m Croatian
Queens Park Rangers are planning ahead for the summer by watching Getafe midfielder Sammir, according to the Daily Mail.
The Brazilian turned Croatian international moved to Getafe in Februrary but is reportedly interested in a move to England with the side three points above the relegation zone with one game left.
He scored 46 goals in 173 games for Dinamo Zagreb, however, has failed to make a similar impact in La Liga.
Norwich, Cardiff, Wolves and Boro all chasing Huddersfield Town midfielder Adam Clayton
A number of Championship clubs are reportedly interested in highly-rated Huddersfield midfielder Adam Clayton.
Brighton had a £1 million offer knocked back for the player in January, however, the bearded playmaker looks no closer to signing a new deal and with just 12-months left on his deal Huddersfield may cash in.
A number of the promotion favourites are said to be interested, including relegated sides Cardiff City and Norwich City which just adds to the doubt over Clayton signing a new deal.
Stuart Gray confims interest in Owls' former loan star Roger Johnson
Sheffield Wednesday manager Stuart Gray has indicated he will look to bring back successful loan signing Roger Johnson this summer.
'He did well here and would be several options to have in mind, but you've got to have a few irons in the fire.
'When Dave Jones was here he wanted to extend Roger's loan, and so did I after taking over but then West Ham came in and they were paying a large chunk of his salary.'
Wolves boss Kenny Jackett admitted he will assess Johnson's future before pre-season starts and that there has been no word from West Ham over a future move.
Ipswich Town defender on Premier League wishlist
Leicester, along with West Ham, Southampton, Newcastle and West Brom are all reportedly interested in PFA Team of the Year left-back Aaron Cresswell.
The full-back has been heavily scouted by Premier League clubs in the past six months and manager Mick McCarthy has said previously admitted he is 'expecting' interest in the summer.
Who do you want your team to sign this summer?

Is adam Clayton the guy who used to play for Leeds?
Think hes a pretty good player personally.
Im not sure about McCormack, certainly not for 6m anyway.

We certainly don't need to be paying £6 million for players in the Championship, I'm not even sure it's a good idea to bring Ross back anyway, I'm not a great believer in players going back to clubs, it rarely works out second time around.
Wed May 14, 2014 7:54 am
Not at those prices.
£4million at most and even then I believe there are just goal poachers that can be better for less.
Give any decent poacher the service and they will score.

To think that Dave Jones virtually gave McCormack away and now he's being talked about as a £6m-£10m player. No way we should be paying that sort of money out now we are back in the Championship.

I thought after we didn't get Riss we turned our focus to Guerra if we are getting Grabban for £3mil too, with Jones, Berget and Mason also more than likely to stay, I can't see us looking again unless Ole is thinking of using him as a winger.

and that was where he didn't succeed for us the last time.

I don't think he was a failure though, certainly a lot better as a central striker but he had some decent games in the wing. Vs Swansea in 2010 I can remember. But I can't see us getting him just to play him on the wing.

Don´t think so, as Annis tells they turned down £6 m. Remember we are the club who signed Cornelius for £10 m.

Wind up being the man who wants money bags to leave so so much but also holds a hope we will make big money signings.

I would like to see us sign McCormack but only if Rhodes isn't available and only if it's for under £5m. Given his age I wouldn't say he's worth much more than £4m.
Wed May 14, 2014 12:20 pm
they are in mountains of debt tho so i cant see them holding out for 10m, when ross left us he was young and we hadnt seen the best of him but hes grown up and is doing the business every week at leeds, should never have sold him,we bought chops back for 5m so 4 for ross would be gd business, think id prefer deeny tho

No , Clayton played for U2

I would like Ross back. I dont think we need wingers or hold up players, we want someone who plays upfront and want to SHOOT the f*cking ball in the net. No trying to dribble it into the goal, just facking kick it at goal.
6m thou? Dunno, if he gets us 25 goals, we get promoted and then he scored 15 in the Prem? 6m sounds cheap
Wed May 14, 2014 12:42 pm
Wouldnt pay more than 5m for Rossco.
Wed May 14, 2014 12:53 pm
No thanks at that price.
Wed May 14, 2014 2:06 pm
Jesus, silly season seems to start earlier every year.
Wed May 14, 2014 7:21 pm
10m lmao when he was coming to us in Jan for 4m before Cellino said for him to get back to training ground, laughable and obviously the press being mongs.
Personally annoys me how DJ played Bothroyd and Chopra even when Chops was out of form, look at Burnley 08/09 to see the chemistry between Jay and Ross
Wed May 14, 2014 7:23 pm
Would be Happy to see Ross back but for no more then 5 mil.
Wed May 14, 2014 8:00 pm
Would love to see Ross back, but 4 mill tops for me. Good player who can bang in the goals would be a great coupe
Wed May 14, 2014 8:09 pm
Dont get me wrong im am by NO means a tan supporter but who do we expect to pay 6mil for mccormack or any1 else for that matter? The guy we all call a wanka and chant to f**k off and leave us alone for his actions and turning us red? To call it hypocrytical is a massive understatement. Im sure of a few sarcy comments but believe me I AM NOT A TAN SUPPORTER.
Wed May 14, 2014 8:11 pm
Think that train has gone now. Accepted bid on Grabban. "Watertight" contract with Javi Guerra. How many strikers can Cardiff have?
Wed May 14, 2014 8:13 pm
Complains about debt but wants to spend £10 million on a championship striker.
£10 million is an absolute joke of a fee, anything about £4 million and we have been ripped off.

I actually had not read the article, I also would not want to pay more than £3mill for Ross,as I think he would fail in the Prem if he got us promoted, but why I said I would like him for us, I do believe he would help us go back up at the right price.
Personally I dont want Tan to put us anymore in debt than he has already done to us.
We receive £62 mill from this season, I dont believe the club is being run financially well and the next accounts will show that.
