ANNIS ABRAHAM " I SHOULD HAVE SAID NO, NO, NO!!! "

Walesonline Weds May 14th 2014

In a must read interview for all Cardiff City fans, one supporter who has dedicated his life to the cause, Annis Abraham, tells how the groundswell of opinion to return the colour back to blue has grown

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/foot ... ry-7115933

" I SHOULD HAVE SAID 'NO, NO, NO'. "

Momentarily, I was torn. In my daze I wavered. In hindsight, I should have said ‘No, no, no’.

Very quickly, though, I began to realise things couldn’t really be quite as bad as this.

I arranged a meeting at the Ninian Park pub where 50 Cardiff City regulars backed me in agreeing to campaign against the red.

" Money cannot buy your passion for your club "

" It is a campaign I personally won’t give up on until Cardiff City are playing in blue again and with the bluebird badge back on the shirt. "

" I walked away from the meeting in a complete daze. Shaking. Almost unable to control myself.

It was being made clear to me that if my view didn’t change, I would be among those held responsible for potentially losing the club. "

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/foot ... ry-7115933

" Annis, you’ve got to move on and accept this,’ I was told. But I never could accept it.

That was the worst day I have had supporting Cardiff City.

Vincent Tan needs us on his side next season. Cardiff require a fan base to focus upon roaring the team to promotion, not one focussing on pro-blue songs the whole time.

A divided club can’t succeed. "

Money cannot buy your passion for your club. That was my original stance. Thankfully, it seems the majority agree with me today. :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

The best thing about Chelsea for me was seeing youngsters aged seven to 11 standing and holding up their blue scarves. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

It just shows how little Tan understands football, we need to be unified ASAP this season to give us the best chance of coming up again, instead he gets it all wrong and says maybe if we go up....I guess he doesn't want his money back because he won't get it whilst we are in the championship.

Don't blame yourself for the actions of a mad man. You could have said No all you liked and Tan would have still done as he pleased because Tan is a control freak. Do some research into his other companies and you'll see this is the case.

Fair do's Annis a very interesting read. You should never feel bad about that meting & given those choices. You've pushed things along brilliantly.
Here's to next season ......

Why wasnt I name checked in this?

Ive done more in 3 years to wake people out of their red stupor than the vast majority of cardiff fans, that isnt even a joke. Suffered ban upon ban for it too

Yes.

Nobody in that meeting had any mandate to say yes or no on behalf of the fanbase. They should have all walked out en masse and told the club that if they wanted the opinion or approval of the fans to put it to a season ticket holders vote or not bother asking anyone.

I rarely post here, but wanted to congratulate Annis for a superb read. We don't always see eye to eye, but fair play to you, you summed up my feelings, as well as I suspect, many others in that article. One of the best summations on how many if us feel. Well said

A troll by saying it how it is? :?

You know as well as I do that ive been warning you all from the outset. Telling you what his plans are, telling you there will be no full debt to equity, telling you that you will be a sponsorship tool and telling you that your clubs soul will die from the inside as a result. Sort term bought success is hollow and meaningless.

If that makes a troll, then by christ your fanbase needs thousands of trolls

Chip on my shoulder?

 yep how I long to be in the championship with £150m in debt about to be 100% owned by a man that changed our colours and badge with a penchant for the ridiculous :laughing6:

Irrespective of what views are held. NJ73 is 100% correct. All 12 people should have got up and walked out without saying anything. They had no right in making any such decision on behalf any anybody but themselves. If the club went ahead and did it anyway, so be it.

Its about time all this "fans leaders" and "inner circle" nonsense is stopped. The irony is Tan is called a dictator for forcing the rebrand through, it seems the decision was given the go ahead by 12 unelected spokespeople for the fans. A 12 strong dictatorship if you will.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and Im sure those 12 would have done things differently given the chance.

What's more disturbing is the 12 apostles are so far up their own arses they never thought about other fans and what they had to say. They paint a picture as if Tan was at the door with his coat on waiting for an answer.Laughable.
NJ is correct and like i said in another thread lets hope the club has learnt lessons and any further changes of the clubs colours is put to a vote of season ticket holders. No more dodgy meetings.

Annis, brilliant article, well done for being such a driving force behind what Cardiff City really means to its true fans and what's really important when truly supporting your club and not selling out, its a good lesson in life to stay true to your beliefs :bluescarf: :old: :bluescarf:
