Shame...I liked his honesty and straight talking....Deserved a proper chance

Re: Sherwood sacked

Anyone who goes away to Liverpool and fail to play a defensive midfielder deserves to get sacked. He He was refreshingly honest but lacked the managerial skill to back it up.

Got a lot of respect for him, hate it when a interim manager steps in and denies not wanting the job, he came out and said he wanted the job and had the balls unlike the rest who just step in and wait until they decide a new manager.

Difficult situation for him, he's straight talking and is quite ruthless, got a different approach to most managers.

Whoever steps in for Spurs will have quite a easier job than Sherwood and AVB with the new players only settling in, well 1-3 of them really.

A lot of clubs should go in for him.

What he done v Villa was funny, got Ade back in form when AVB never really sat down with him, just let him rot with the youngsters when he needed picking up.

Give Kane a chance.

Did a relatively good job under difficult circumstances. Unfortunately for him he is not the glamour type of manager that Daniel Levy wants. Unfortunately for Levy, his reputation for firing managers will not get him the type of manager that he wants.

Tottenham sacked Tim Sherwood after stars' 'Either he goes - or we do' ultimatum to chairman

Midfielders Paulinho, Sandro and Capoue, defender Vertonghen and keeper Lloris are understood to have been prepared to quit

Tim Sherwood was sacked as Tottenham boss after top stars told chairman Daniel Levy: “Either he goes – or we do.”

Had Sherwood survived, midfielders Paulinho, Sandro and Etienne Capoue, defender Jan Vertonghen and keeper Hugo Lloris are understood to have been prepared to quit White Hart Lane this summer.

Southampton’s Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax coach Frank de Boer are front-runners for the job, but Spurs are also considering an audacious move for Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti.

Levy is ready to wait until after the Champions League Final between Real and city rivals Atletico Madrid on Saturday week before moving for Sherwood’s replacement.

He acted swiftly on Tuesday, however, exercising a break clause after just six months of Sherwood's 18-month deal.

The axe came despite the 45-year-old's impressive win ratio and a sixth-placed Premier League finish - sealing Europa League qualification.

Levy was also furious over Sherwood repeatedly ignoring requests to stop publicly criticising the club over the handling of his situation.

The north Londoners' supremo also took into account fan opposition to Sherwood and his poor record against the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Levy said: “We appointed Tim mid-season as someone who knew both the players and the club.
“We agreed an 18-month contract with a break clause at the end of the season and we have now exercised that option.

"Since appointing Tim as assistant first team coach in 2008 and then as technical co-ordinator in 2010 and head of football development in 2012, we have been supportive of him during football management changes throughout that period.

“On behalf of the club, I should like to state our thanks for all his efforts during his years with us. We wish him great success in his managerial career."

..their record against the top 4 was worse than ours......in fairness they were very consistent picking up points against bottom half side, but the gap between them and the top four seems to have got bigger...........

Sherwood was sacked as Tottenham manager in a meeting with chairman Daniel Levy and director of football Darren Eales on Tuesday
Levy was upset with Sherwood's outspoken manner in press conferences and interviews
Sherwood was keen on signing Romelu Lukaku, Gareth Barry and Winston Reid this summer
Spurs are interested in bringing Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino to White Hart Lane

Norwich in the championship seems logical to me, i really cant see him getting another premiership job soon.

But then people outside of this club seem to look at our situation differently, almost as if Malky would have kept us up

Perhaps Tan did him a favour in that respect, if it was Malky who took us down he wouldnt be in the running for any of these jobs.

different people see different things your correct......while looking around i found a convo between two norwich fans regarding malky.......one was pointing out that malky would never have got us up without the foundations of a v good side when he arrived...........its opposite to what most here think.....

Sherwood was never anything else then an Interregnum manager. His contract was never ment to last longer then the end of the season.
