he is nowhere near those picked....there must be midfield players out there much closer to that squad too

I would have taken Puncheon personally. Think he's been in good form lately.

Because he played for a side that finished bottom and goes missing when we need him at his best?

A few people on here were saying he was good enough for England a few months ago. They were on drugs or had probably escaped from there care homes.

Mutch is very overrated by our fans IMO as is Noone

He lacks cutting edge, their is nothing about mutch that is stand out, there is nothing he does that is consistantly close to world class.

Being world class is not a pre requisite to represent England or to be in their squad for the World Cup.

There is one possibly two players who could be defined as world class in the squad.

I agree that Mutch is far inferior to the midfielders who are even on the stand by list.

I thought Mutch was in with a chance when his stats were in the media showing that he was better than Barkley, but when it came to the crunch time of the season, he didn't rise to the occasion. Players need to be consistently good to warrant playing at the top level and also be able to play that way when the chips are down, but unfortunately he was down at the same time. He has all the attributes to become a future star, but only if he learns from experiences like this demotion.

Mutch has massive potential but he's far too inconsistent to even be considered for international level.

as long as your 21 at the start of whatever tournement it doesnt matter.
