Anyone shocked by quality of free agents this summer?

Some absolute diamonds in there. A lot of players who are more than comfortable at Championship level. Think it's likely we'll sign any of them? If so, who?

Whittingham? So is his future with us next season not confirmed yet then?

pretty shocked to see whitts in there. apart from bellamy and ciowie thought all first teamers were on at least another year?

Colebak, Brunt and Larsson would all be good signings, though i doubt we get get the two sunderland players.


Keiran Westwood is out of contract... the PERFECT signing should we sell Marshall!


Marc Wilson might be a good option at the back too.

Turner and Mason were on that list as well. I did not think they were out of contract.

Matthew Upson could be a goer on a free. Plenty of experience in the centre of defence.

I would take Eagles and Buckley on frees as we are short of wingers. They would both come on reasonable wages and improve our squad. I would take Ben Watson as well but he will probably command big wages and we have enough decent centre midfielders.

In a dream world, from those lists I would love to take Jack Colback, Chris Eagles and Kasper Schmeichel (should Marshall leave)

I think Chris Eagles is the most likely target with the ex man utd connection there and the need for another winger!

And Will Buckley of course ...though he will probably join up with Poyet again!

As much as I like Buckley, he seems to be injured very often.

Ben Watson is exactly what we are missing. Someone with a good engine who can put his foot in and play also. Him and Whitts would be an excellent CM pairing with Mats in front of them and Noone and Buckley on the wings.

I dont think anyone at Wigan would be on silly wages thats not the way Dave Whelan operates.

My only concern on Ben Watson hes bust a leg a few times and is injury prone for long periods.

I cant champion the case for Keiran Westwood enough, Should have played a lot more games for Sunderland and is a class keeper, would be a perfect replacement for Marshall... on less money as well i imagine.
