He'll go to the MLS or retire. No chance of us getting him, laughable that any sane person would suggest it.

Best part is suggesting we sign him(on what would be high wages) then finishing with Tan Out, whose gonna be paying his wages then mate

Rio: Winning trophies I dreamed about came true at this great club
MAY 12, 2014 14 COMMENTS
Following reports in the press that Rio Ferdinand has not been offered a new deal, the defender has confirmed that he will be leaving the club this summer.
“I have thought long and hard over the last few months about my future and, after 12 fantastic years playing for what I regard as the best club in the world, I have decided the time is right for me to move on,” he said. “I joined Manchester United in the hope of winning trophies, and never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined how successful we would be during my time here. There have been so many highlights, playing alongside some great players who have become good friends, winning my first Premier League title and also that fantastic night in Moscow are memories that I will cherish forever. Circumstances didn’t allow for me to say goodbye the way I would have liked but I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my team-mates, staff, the club and the fans for an unbelievable 12 years that I’ll never forget. Winning trophies I dreamed about as a kid came true at this great club. I am feeling fit and healthy, ready for a new challenge and looking forward to whatever the future holds for me.”

I do love silly season.

You're more likely to see him in Monaco, New York, LA, or sitting back in one of his many mansions instead of a Cardiff shirt next season!

Is this like the time you thought giggs was going to play for you?

Re: Rio Ferdinand

He would never touch a basket case of a club like our and ruin his playing reputation in just one season, also the championship is to a lower league for him to even contemplate, none starter, also we couldn't even afford 10% of his wages next season :bluescarf: :old: :bluescarf:

Steve Bruce spoke about him today, wouldn't be shocked if Hull went in for him.. be a good signing for them personally.

My thoughts exactly, why is is all the Tan out brigade are the most vocal about us not strengthening the squad enough. You either want his millions or you don't.

Rio Ferdinand

Both halves of Manchester United’s famous central defence for the past eight years are leaving this summer. Nemanja Vidic is off to Italy to play for Internazionale while Rio Ferdinand was told at the weekend that United would not be renewing his contract. Ferdinand said last week that if United did not offer him a new deal that he would be “open to offers” but joked that he “would not go below the Conference”. That is unlikely to be an issue as there should be no shortage of clubs looking for a defender of his experience. Queen’s Park Rangers, should they come up, are managed by Ferdinand’s old mentor Harry Redknapp, while even bigger teams like Arsenal could be tempted.
